POPS.mov
We've all most likely heard of the Cartoon Network show, Regular Show. If you haven't heard about it, the show is about a Raccoon named Rigby, and a Blue Jay named Mordecai, getting into very irregular predicaments(basically, it's anything but a 'regular' show). They work at a city park with the other protagonists, a gumball machine named Benson, a yeti named Skips, a lollipop named Pops, a human named Muscle Man, a ghost named High Five Ghost, and a goat named Thomas.
Normally, the show is humorous and interesting, with the occasional cartoon violence and 'scary' scenes. I would never expect it to cross the line, but I was horribly wrong.
One night, while watching the '90s Are All That, a block on TeenNick, I received an E-mail from my best friend Katelyn. This was very abnormal, considering she was normally asleep before the '90s Are All That would come on; however, I just ignored it and opened the message. I wish I never opened that freaking E-mail. She had written, "OMG!! You HAVE to watch this, dude! It's messed up as heck!! Watch it, and meet me tomorrow, so we can track down the sick guy who made this crap! I will text you a time in the morning, hurry, before it's too late. Goodnight." There was an attachment that was titled "POPS.mov". It was an Apple QuickTime file, meaning I needed that exact player to open it. Curiosity overcame me, and I downloaded QuickTime. After the download was done, I opened POPS.mov, and it's still, to this day, the most regretful thing I've ever done.
It was 15 minutes long, which seemed about normal. It started out with a quite blurry opening of Regular Show, but there was just silence, no sound. The episode was titled "Death", which seemed a little off to me, really making me wonder what this was about. The first scene showed a close up of Pop's face, and he was crying. It sounded real! This creeped the heck out of me, but I continued. The crying kept up, getting louder and more disturbing, and the picture quality was getting worse. After about 3 minutes of this, Pops said softly, "I'm sorry.", and pulled a knife from his pocket, and cut his left leg off. I vomited at this sight, being how real the blood looked. I wish I shut it off, and deleted it of my computer forever, but curiosity made me continue. Pops then cut off his right leg, and his other arm. After another minute of pops just lying there, almost lifeless, in a puddle of his own blood, he took out the knife again, and gouged out both of his eyes and screamed in the loudest voice imaginable. Shortly after, the scene cut out. I was ready to explode into tears; I couldn't believe what I just saw! It all seemed way too real, the scream, the blood, oh my lord. For some reason, I got up, and pressed on. I was wondering how Katelyn even got this file, and why in the world she would send it to me instead of deleting it.
The next scene opened up with all the other park workers searching for Pops, but they didn't say anything. They all just looked emotionless walking around the park. After about 6 minutes of just endless walk cycles, Benson gathered everyone in the living room of the house Mordecai, Rigby, and Pops lived in. He told them he found Pops, and everyone just stared at Benson, Emotionless. Benson presented a cardboard box to the group, and opened it. Here's where I lost it, and started vomiting and crying my eyes out. Inside the box, was Pops' head. It didn't look like a cartoon artist drew it, however. It looked like a photographer took the picture of a real head identical to Pops' head. Even the empty eye sockets looked real!
The rest of the video was all of them mourning, with their god forsaken realistic crying. Right after the video ended, the power went out. I was scared out of my mind, but it came right back on (Thank god). I couldn't sleep; I kept having nightmares about Pops and his freaking disembodied head. At 4:45 AM, my computer turned on by itself, and started playing POPS.mov. I was scared so much at this point; I had to leave this house. I bolted down the stairs and out the front door, only to realize it was actually 10:45 AM! Ha! Silly me!
Katelyn texted me, and told me to come to her house so we could track down the creator of POPS.mov. I got dressed, and left out the back door, and I tripped over a cardboard box. I thought it was a package, so I opened it. I nearly passed out when I saw the contents of the box. The same disembodied head in the video was in this box!
There was a note in the box that read, "I'm sorry." I took out the head, only to find out; it was Katelyn's head, with her hair chopped off. I fell to the ground and cried. I cried for 20 minutes, and yelled, "WHAT THE HECK DO YOU WANT FROM ME?!" repeatedly.
After an hour of crying in my backyard about the decapitation of my best friend, I crawled my way back into my house, and up the stairs to my room. I layed in my bed and cried for the rest of the day. I heard something downstairs.
I immediately stopped crying and listened. I heard a foot pattern on the floor. The steps were coming closer, I had to hide. Someone's in my house.
I leaped into the closet with my phone. That's what I'm currently writing on. The intruder came up the stairs and into my room. He was wearing a black ski mask, black jacket, black pants, black everything! He went to my laptop. My assumption was him stealing it, but no, he was typing!
I could make out the Yahoo! Mail "Compose Message" page. POPS.mov was attached to the E-mail, and it was being sent to my friend, Seth. After he was done, he turned around and started torward the closet I'm in. Here's the E-Mail on the screen:
"OMG!! You HAVE to watch this, dude! It's messed up as heck!! Watch it, and meet me tomorrow, so we can track down the sick guy who made this crap! I will text you a time in the morning, hurry, before it's too late. Goodnight."
The man came in, and chopped off my hair, he's now holding me hostage. He's talking of cutting my head off and sending to Seth. Weird.
