Broken...

I had finally gotten a chance to go out and buy the new Pokémon game: Either Black or White. Everybody always got White, so I chose Black. A brand new copy for $49.99, it better be worth it. The moment I got home, I plugged in the game and started it up. After the intro and selecting new game, I punched 'Ethan' (my name) into the name slot, but something wasn't right.

After welcoming me to the world of Pokémon, something went wrong. The professor said "..." multiple times, then said "Why have you returned?" This confused me, I have never played this generation of Pokémon, but I have played several of the older ones. Most of the game went on as normal, the texts of the other characters seemed fine.

However about half an hour into the game, my sprite randomly stopped and then said what the professor had said: "Why did you return? You said you would not return... What are you trying to do?" I called my brother upstairs to show him the text, but when he arrived I could move again and he just said the creepypastas were getting to my head. So I continued on. About five minutes later, my sprite paused and began talking to me again saying "It has only been a week, why do you return?" I was a little scared at this point, and thought it was a hacked game. I returned it and got a new one, untouched like the last.

Plugging this one in on the car ride home, the professor weirded out again, but this time saying "Why try again?"

I turned off my DS and left the game alone, returning to my old Diamond game. This was acting strange as well, when I tried to press continue or new game it simply popped up with a message (the one normally saying 'save file corrupted'), just stating "You do not belong."

I could have sworn I had beaten the game before, but I couldn't even play the game! That was when everything, even things outside the games, started weirding out.

My phone kept receiving texts from 'Unknown Sender' saying "Get Out!" and whenever I tried to respond my phone would ask me to input a phone number, which was not available.

So I got up and tried to open my door. It was jammed. Weird, since the door only jams during the summer. After prying my door open, my DS turned on. It was running Pokémon Black, which isn't even in the DS. My sprite, standing in complete darkness, said "STAY." I pressed A to see if he had anything else to say, and then said "Listen to what I have to say."

Continuing with the strange conversation, this is what came up. "Do you not remember who you are?" "How did you get there?" "Did you forget who we are?" "You aren't the only one who's free you know..." "They are coming for you..." Other than that experience, the rest of the day was normal. I ate dinner, did my homework and went to sleep.

Before I fell asleep, a loud static emerged from my DS which caught my attention. Opening it up, my sprite decided to have another conversation with me, although it always seemed to go one way.

"Do not go to school tomorrow" "It is not as it seems" "You are the broken one" I was really freaked out at this point, then one last message came up: "Ethan (Last name here, rather not disclose it)," I was really freaked out that it knew my full name. "Just do what I say." It took me hours to fall asleep that night, the messages stuck in my head.

When I awoke, my Pokémon had yet another message for me, with loud static to catch my attention: "You will be exposed if you continue." Remembering the message from last night, I tried to avoid school. First I turned my alarm off, pretending I forgot to set it.

My mom woke me up. I pretended to be sick, and said I can't go to school. When I said that she looked at me with a disturbing look, as if she was staring through me, and said "You WILL go to school. I will be the one to make sure." That was really not normal, she has never acted like that ever before. Reluctantly, remembering the message, I went to school. I wish I had just ran at that point, but continued on anyways.

When I arrived, it looked abandoned. I couldn't see anybody, and all the lights were off. After being shoved into the school by my mother, I attempted to leave. The doors were locked. I heard the sound of static coming from the speakers throughout the school, I then attempted to open the doors of the school. All of them were locked, it was tough to determine which classroom each door lead to. When I reached the gym the static became clearer, and the doors were unlocked.

The speakers being full of static I could only make out so much from the announcements, "You are broken... One week... Truth is lost... Hard to handle... Exposed..." Then the clearest message came on, as if echoing from inside my head, "Everything is a lie."

Now I was freaking out. Yelling, pounding on all possible exits trying to get out. The static grew louder, and I could hardly think, my head hurt so much, and I lost the ability to speak over the speakers. The world was spinning, and then a man in a white lab coat, resembling Professor Oak from the first generation series, approached me (Although it wasn't actually him, but it was really close). Everything he said was a blur, and what he said was very weird.

It seemed almost to puncture through the static.

"You do not belong here. There was a group of scientists, analyzing the possibility of artificial life, which reached a scientific breakthrough. They tested it with a normal Pokemon game, and brought one to life about a week ago. After reaching this world, we gave it protection, people who understood what it was and the importance of the breakthrough. Experts in the field, they took care of it and the Pokemon bonded with them, thinking they were its real parents. However in this world there were strange effects on the creature. With its ability to take human form, it was not difficult to conceal. But the Pokemon developed memories of things that never actually happened. It took events it saw or experienced, and built itself a past. It learned too much, how to act like us, how to be one of us. But it had lost its original form. It had forgotten. It believed it was human."

"All the other games made after this have had a strange effect. They all seem to respond to any of these 'Pokemon' from reality, and would respond differently than the normal game. This was to warn them, telling them to be careful, since most of them were created by accident and were to be 'removed'. The games acted normally for humans, however, and did nothing different than the normal game. So six Pokemon were brought to this world, only two of which we brought here. Only one has been able to return to its form, the others have lost this ability. We have been able to 'forcefully' bring them back to their original form, however the effects of that is very severe.. That is why you are here. There are so many Pokemon missing, three of them Zorua, and we have finally found the one with its true form..."

My head, my body, ached. I couldn't speak, move or think. The static was so loud my ears were bleeding. I lay crumpled on the floor, shaking, covering my ears, vision slowly fading. The moment before I passed out, I heard him say one last thing. This was the only thing I can remember of my past anymore.

"You're that one."
