Cows

So this morning, I woke up way too early. My birthday was yesterday, and I'm supposed to head out today for some pizza as some late birthday party sort of deal. It's not that I'm excited about the pizza and the arcade, not to say I don't enjoy the idea, but my cat was chewing on the Christmas tree (I really need to take that thing down), causing a faint, yet irritating rustling sound. In frustration, I got out of bed and shook the tree, scaring the hell out of her and making her race downstairs. Sometimes she just doesn't like when I sleep through the night, I swear. But anyhow...

I layed back down, trying to go back to sleep, but that would be quite the feat, as my boyfriend was lying next to me, sleeping like log and snoring loud enough to break the fucking sound barrier. I've tried everything. Waking him up is near impossible, a pillow over my head does nothing, and I always subconsciously pull out earplugs after I fall asleep. So I tossed and turned and generally tried to hope myself to sleep to no avail. Just as I close my eyes, just hoping I can tune everything out, I hear a familiar sound. Someone texted me? Who the HELL would text me at this hour?

Well, so much for sleeping. My phone was downstairs and I was upstairs in bed. Despite the text message, I was just staring into the black mass that cast darkness over my ceiling. I must've been having a really weird dream, though, because my thoughts drifted to the subject of aliens. Random, I know.

I remember hearing all kinds of silly things about cows being abducted, but I hadn't thought about them since I was a kid, but for some reason, thinking about that was triggered once more. I also heard about cows being found in unexplained and disturbing manners, but the thought didn't bother me so much, but it only made me think.

If the reports on life forms visiting from other planets are true, is it possible that they think cattle are the dominant species?

At that, I just chuckled and shook my head. I knew I wasn't going to get any more sleep. I guess I should answer that text.

Oddly enough, when I picked up the phone, I slid it open to look at the message. There was no number... Strange. Curious, I opened it, my jaw agape. I nearly dropped the phone when I read, "You mean they aren't?"
