Daughter beat me at a video game

I (36M) have always enjoyed super smash bros. The first time I have ever played was when my parents bought me it for Christmas one year. Ever since I have been hooked. Every day for years I would come home and grind as becoming better was one of the only things that made me happy. Fast forward to a week ago. It was my daughter's (15) birthday and I couldn't wait for her to open her present. I got her a Nintendo switch with Smash Ultimate.

After we cut the cake she began opening her presents and when she got to ours she was ecstatic! She had been wanting one for some time and it felt great to make her happy. Fast forward a week and me and my daughter are playing smash bros together. she had only had the game for a week and she had become fairly skilled. I was proud of her in all honesty until she started taunting me after she won a game. "Have you ever played the previous titles!" and "It's ok it's only your first time playing." I began to get mad. Really mad. How dare she discount my dedication for this beloved title.

I snapped back at her and said something along the lines of "Shut your mouth! you have no idea of what I have been through.". The entitled brat had the audacity to act confused and this sent me over the edge which must have been strange for her as I have never acted this way but I feel like the situation demanded it. I enacted justice by ripping the tv off of the wall and launching it directly at my daughter. It hit her and she was out cold. My wife walked after the commotion and immediately went to check on her. She picked her up and imminently left. I was still pretty upset so I didn't even look at them. About an hour later, my wife texted me. "My daughter is in the hospital". I asked if I could see her but she would not let me.

I feel like this is an extreme over-reaction but I want to know what other people think of this. Am I the asshole?
