Dead Rising: The Lost Files

I am a huge fan of Dead Rising. One time when I went to a garage sale around my neighborhood, I saw something that caught my eye. It was a Dead Rising video game. It was titled "Dead Rising the lost files." I ask myself "Should I get it?" The front cover is Frank West holding a shovel on top of tipped over truck with a huge amount of zombies surrounding the truck. I decided, "What the hell," and I bought it.

I was amazed at how cheap the game was, as its price was only $10. So I went home. I turned on my Xbox 360, pulled out my Dead Rising 2 disc and inserted The DRTLF disc. The game started out normally with the CAPCOM logo fading in the screen, followed by the Dolby digital logo, then the game started up. It was the same logo as the first Dead Rising with the zombies slowly walking to the Willamette Parkview Mall, with the creepy ass music playing in the background. Only this time, the game was titled "Dead Rising:The lost files" instead of the usual "Dead Rising" logo. So I started up the game and this is where things got strange. Insted of the game starting with Frank in a helicopter, it started out with Frank on the rooftop with Carlito. So the conversation was the same as usual with Carlito asking that if he came by helicopter and Frank introducing himself, etc. However at the end of the conversation, Carlito speech was different; Instead of him saying, "This, my friend, was hell," Carlito said, "This, my friend, is your worst nightmare." I looked at the screen and I said, "O...k, this is weird," and the game went into gameplay mode.

So then the gameplay started. Carlito was standing there and, like in the original game, you had no weapons or form of attack. But before I went into the security room, I looked at Carlito and he had red eyes, as if a demon possessed him. I pushed "B" to talk to him and his conversation box popped up and it had no text in it. So I went and procceded back into the security room. As I went into the security room, there was blood everywhere; Blood on the walls, blood on the doors, blood on the security monitors. As I went into the monitor room, there were dead bodies everywhere. The dead bodies looked like humans, not zombies. When I went up to the security monitor, it had the usual "push B to view cutscene" command, so I pushed "B" and, to my horror, I saw this: It was a security video of the security room full of survivors doing nothing but resting. Ten seconds into the video, a shadow that had the shape of Frank came in and killed everyone with a small chainsaw (chainsaw used by Adam the clown). After that scene, it cuts to the face of Frank, with a look of horror on his face with him saying, "What in the world?" The game then proceeds back to gameplay. I continued down the hallway leading to the Entrance Plaza and there was no blood there. It looks like it did in the original. I walked all the way down this hallway to Entrance Plaza. As I opened the door to the Entrance Plaza, there is a cutscene of the survivors barricading the mall. Usual Isabella looking sexy, Delarosa telling me to "stop eyeballing pretty girls," Frank is shocked to hear about the zombies, etc. However, as it went back to gameplay, I walked to the back to get items to build a barricade when the old man came up. He just looked at Frank with a look of horror on his face. He then said, "You...you are the person who killed all those people in the secuirty room!" Frank then looks at him and he says, "I don't know what your talking about!" Then the conversation is interrupted by screaming. This time, Lindsay didn't let the zombies in to save her dog. It was a shadow killing the survivors; a shadow that looked that at Frank West. Then you see Brad at the top, shouting, "What the hell are you people doing? Run this way! Hurry up! Move!" Then you see a shadow heading towards Frank, then the game fades into gameplay. The Entrance Plaza was silent; everyone was dead and no one survived the attack of the shadow. The shadow ran towards me and was armed with a small chainsaw and he made no sounds whatsoever. I grabbed a bench to hit him with, but he attacked me before I had the chance to attack him, and Frank died instantly. However, the game didn't say "Load, Save or Restart." It faded in to another scene with Frank into the Paradise Plaza, full of zombies. In the right, it said "Backup for Brad" in dark blue. I was heading to the food court to meet up with Brad to fight Carltio. No problems were encountered on my way there; no shadows, no demonic Carlito, etc.

I entered the food court to a cutscene. This time with Carlito, with the same demonic eyes he had earlier. He pulled out his machine gun and started to shoot at Frank and Brad. The conversation was the same and nothing different about it, but as it faded into gameplay, you hear strange things coming out of Carlito like "die" and "suffer" with him saying it in a demonic voice. I jumped up to where Carltio was and I stabbed him repeatedly with my knife and the boss fight was over. Then the game faded in to antoher scene with Frank at the Entrance Plaza. I shouted "WTF!" as the game kept changing places. It started me out in front of the esculators and it was sunset. I walked to the second floor to find no zombies. I proceeded to investigate the entire second floor and when I went to the other side of the second floor, I saw a shadow standing still: the same shadow in the beggining of the game. In my inventory, I had a shotgun and orange juice. I armed myself with a shotgun and shot the shadow. It didn't get hurt at all and it turned back to look at me. It had the small chainsaw and it proceeded to run after Frank. I ran into the door leading to the security room and the game switched to the loading screen. After the loading screen, I was in the hallway leading to the security room. No zombies were found here (strangely, since in the original zombies, there were a crapload of zombies). I went to the security room (which the door was broken) to find Brad, Jessie, and Otis, all of them chopped into two pieces. I was thinking, "WTF," as it wasn't in the original game. Then the shadow appeared behind me and I ran to the rooftop. My game then crashed.

I decided to stop playing and I was about to turn of my 360 until the game went back into gameplay. It was on the rooftop and the sky was dark. There was nothing around Frank: no zombies, no shadow, no Carlito. I waited on the big H for about a minute and I got a cutscene. It was a closeup of Frank's face. He had a sad look on his face and he kept staring into the camera. Then a couple seconds later, a shadow was walking behind him and slashed Frank with his small chainsaw. Frank was chopped into two pieces and the shadow looked at the camera and it laughed in a demonic manner. After that was done, it started to play "Justified" with the credits rolling. I switched off my 360 and I was terrified. I decided to never play this game again. I went to return the game back to the same house I bought it from. I went to see a crime-scene tape surrounding the house. There were police officers surrounding the area. I asked one officer what happened. He said the owners of the house were killed by some shadow figure with a chainsaw. I left and returned to my home. When I came home, I openend my door to see a shadow holding a small chainsaw, while looking straight at my face while laughing demonicly.
