First of all, I know most of you won't believe this happened. But it did.
It all started when my older brother turned thirteen; he had gotten a Nintendo 64 along with the game Diddy Racing.
I hated the game Diddy Kong Racing. It scared me so bad and it still does; I would cry every time I played it or my brother played it. I grew up so scared of the game, I never played it again.
About three years later, I was home alone and I was looking for my Gameboy, when I came across a box under my brother's bed. I opened it, and there was the game Diddy Kong. The N64 label was ripped and I was very scared. I spat on the cartridge and ran out of the room; I later returned to play it. I don't know why I did that, and probably will never know.
The game started out normal, but the intro had no Diddy Kong in an airplane, though it had all the sound effects. I thought it might have been like that because it hadn't been played for a long time. Then the whole game went to static for about six seconds, then it started. I had two balloons and I was Diddy Kong. I drove around a bit, thinking how silly I was being - scared of the game. I went in the log cave and came out looking at the beach when I noticed a little black figure in the water.
I went to the genie and grabbed the hover board and went to where the figure was.
It was a figure of Taj. He was just standing there, his hands in the air. He looked like he was drowning. I got very scared and immediately turned around and went back to the genie, but he wasn't there. I then noticed that the balloon in front of World One was there, but it was silver. I went and grabbed it and suddenly I was transported to Wizpigs Race.
I reset the game but nothing happened, so i just went with the game to see what would happen. The race began and I couldn't move; it was there I saw the figure of Taj again.
I began to drive automatically and it sent me to a cut scene. It began all black and Taj said, "I have something special for you." Now I could see what was happening. The figure was there, but moving very fast and flashing until the actual Taj popped up and he had faded eyes!
I couldn't stop staring, and then some words appeared and it said, "I told you to never return." Then static kept on appearing with scrambling sound.
I began to cry and I ran out of the house.
I waited until my brother got home and we went upstairs to the game, but when we walked in the room, it was paused on a race. I told him everything that happened, but he didn't believe me.
My brother laughed and walked off. Then it went back to the scene and music of kids singing went on. I just sat there watching and Taj's face had a smile. The text box appeared again and it said:
"Let's keep this our little secret..."
I turned off the game and never played it, but I still remember everything.
I still see that figure everyday.
I still hear those kids.
I still remember it like it was yesterday.
