Do You Know?

The moment you wake from your lovely slumber and drag yourself from your bed, you're being watched. Not by a camera, not out the window, and not by a god. The second you open your eyes, they open theirs, too. When you walk over to your closet/dresser to get changed, they follow right behind you. As you look in the mirror at yourself, they look too.

But you don't see them, they just see you. Now as you walk down the stairs they're currently floating right behind you. As you go to the fridge to get the milk out they are still watching. Then as you sit there eating your cereal thinking about how you're going to get through the day, something falls.

It's not something extremely loud, but it's enough to startle you. It wasn't a glass that fell for that would've been too loud. It was an apple. An apple? Now you're thinking how did this fall out of no where? You went to get the milk, then afterwards you went and got your cereal form the cupboard (in which you didn't even leave the room). And right now you're the only one awake in the whole house.

Oh and there's no pets either in the house. You walk over to the apple and pick it up, and as you do you notice a shadow move from behind you. As if something had just moved away from standing over you.

But when you turn do you see anything?
