Donald Duck Hijacking
It's been over 20 years since this happened, but I might as well bring it to light.
On the night of 02/26/1993, I took my wife and two daughters out to dinner. It was our "Friday Night Treat." We went and got some pizza, followed by some ice cream. One of my daughters, who I won't be naming for privacy, asked me if they could stay up and watch cartoons. Usually, we made them go to bed around 7:00, but I told them that tonight could be an exception.
Once we got home, I turned on the TV to a program called "Donald's Quack Attack." It was a program that just aired old Donald Duck cartoons.
My wife was taking a shower, and my daughters and I sat on the couch and watched the TV. Soon after, an old cartoon title "Duck Pimples" started. I remember seeing that cartoon when I was a child, and I remembering enjoying it.
The cartoon started as usual; Donald listening to the radio and getting scared hearing the stories. When Donald hears a knock, the door burst open to reveal a scary looking man in an overcoat.
However, as the door opened, the screen started glitching, but I didn't think nothing of it. It was storming outside, so I just thought the glitching was caused by that. As the cartoon continued, the screen started cutting to black, though the audio remained the same.
Like usual, the man started riding an "invisible" bike with Donald (old cartoons), and he falls to the floor. However, when he fell to the floor, the screen cut to a frame of him, but his face was blacked out. I then heard a man screaming. I didn't remember this from my childhood! My daughters got scared, so they ran to their rooms, and my wife went to comfort them.
The screen then flashed up a creepy looking man. Faint breathing was heard. I don't get scared easily, but this was freaky as hell.
Then the screen turned black. Text flashed upon the screen. In order, the text read:
"Miles"
"It's me, Victor"
"I'm hunting you"
"You can't escape me"
"I'll always remember what you did"
'When you got drunk that night"
"I told you not to drive"
"Yet you did"
"And you killed my daughter"
"So, I'm ready to kill you"
"That screaming you heard?"
"Your brother."
"Why A Donald Duck cartoon?"
"Because your son loves Donald Duck"
"I bought him a toy for his birthday"
"I want to show him the monster you are"
"Run"
Then the cartoon started back up, like nothing happened.
What the hell just happened? I was too scared to think. I had nightmares for weeks.
So, I did some research...
Miles Hayes and Victor Blackwood were business partners who opened and owned the "Sweet Memories" ice cream shop in North Dakota (where I live). Allegedly, Miles got drunk and killed Victor's daughter, Scarlett. In rage, Victor Blackwood started a killing spree, and apparently he hijacked the cartoon to warn Miles...
