Donkey Kong Country 6
Over the time, there have been lots and lots of bootlegs going around through popular franchises. "When a big fish is caught, there's a leech on the belly." Every single time a popular franchise stood out, bootleg companies and hackers would make pirate ports and hacks off of said games. But this one creeped me out the most.
My favorite games created by Nintendo were the Donkey Kong Country series and The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask. Donkey Kong was one of my most favorite series of all time. I loved the old games. The old games being DKC, DKC 2, DKC 3 DK64 and so on. I even loved Diddy Kong Racing. This wasn't until I went to my favorite comic book store. I bought a few games like Monopoly 64, Halloween, Paperboy for the NES, Spongebob for the GBC and even Lego Racers for the GBA. I came across one last game. It was a DS game, except the cover was off. I expected it to be Donkey Kong Jungle Climbers; but instead, this is what it showed.
The cover had The SNES DKC cover but with the words 'DONKEY KONG COUNTRY 6' printed on it in the normal font. I looked at the back and it said
DONKEY KONG IS BACK AND THIS TIME HE IS GONNA FIGHT HIM SOME OF K ROOL'S CROCCIDILES. NEW FEATURES AND SOMEWHAT NEW STORIES. showing pictures of DKC for the SNES. I assumed that this was a pirate port of DKS for the SNES, or some kind of prank. I was strangely enough given it for free. I picked up the game and went home. I opened the game up. The two things in there were the manual and the actual game. The manual said,
TEST_DEMO_1.4_DK_JUNGLECLIMB
This was a test demo? Weird, but why would Rareware not tell us? I later found out why. As soon as i popped the game in into my ds the game went on normally. It showed the Rareware logo and the Nintendo logo first. It then showed the Main menu screen. The screen showed All the kongs. But they were all angry. It definitely wasn't cartoonish angry. Candy was with K. Rool looking depressed. The title read Donkey Kong Country 6. The music in it was the Donkey Kong Country theme song on loop, just slowed down a tiny bit to be unnoticeable. Other text was
PRESS START
and
NEW, LOAD, OPTIONS, CREDITS
I went on LOAD and it showed me it had only 1 save file. It was named T_DEMO14. I clicked NEW and made my save file.
The game had a storyline that read:
IT WAS A FUN DAY AT THE KONG BEACH, CELEBRATING THE EVENT OF K. ROOL BEING CAPTURED ONCE AND FOR ALL.
THIS WASN'T UNTIL K. ROOL CAME BY AND SAID
"MWUAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA, I GOT YOU NOW CANDY KONG!!!!"
CANDY KONG WAS CAPTURED AND SO WERE MANY KONGS CAPTURED TOO.
"HAHAHAHA DONKEY KONG ALL YOUR FRIENDS ARE CAPTURED!!!!"
I skipped the story and played the game as normal. The game played somewhat like the original Donkey Kong Country. The level started off with DK in Jungle Hijinks defeating crocodiles.
I did notice one thing wrong though. It was the music. It sounded distorted and sounded something you'd hear from a satanic chant, even though it was the same song. I was only given 3 lives instead of 6. It wasn't really that weird though. It was kinda fun for the first levels. That was until I got to the boss fight. It was DK fighting the Gopher. Only, I had to save Dixie Kong. I defeated him but the game crashed. I did it again and, same problem. Once more I did it. But, the boss fight was off. Way off.
Inside said room, it was dark and had no bananas. It showed Dixie Kong hung on a noose by her neck.The gopher looked way too demented. "What the hell?" I thought. "Dixie Kong was never in here, dead or alive." I thought . The music was kinda creeping me out. It sounded muffled and drowned out. I beat the boss, which only resulted in Dixie looking at Donkey and Diddy Kong. Screeching.
It then took me to the next level. Same thing first few levels fun. I got the the 2nd boss. Master Necky. The room had no bananas at all and this time I had to save Dixie Kong's friend. I don't remember who his name was. And I had to save the flexible guy from DK 64. What I noticed that, The skin on the boss's neck was off and showed a neckbone. The eyes was the thing the creeped the hell out of me. I defeated Master Necky. Which resulted in The two others chainsawed.
I couldn't even believe this. Why would RARE make something like this. I played one more level and was greeted with a photo. The photo showed the Ghostlike versions of all the kongs. With text above reading
PLAY IT NOW, YOU ALREADY MET YOUR HELLISH FATE.
I took the game out and shoved it on the mircowave.
The next day I woke up getting ready to go to work. After work, I found out The game was still there.
"WHAT THE HELL" i said aloud. How the frick did the demonic thing get back here. I destroyed it once more and same thing it came back. Angry, i put the game in my ds to play. I played the other levels. The other levels were the same really. They all had hellish backgrounds. Nazi symbols painted on trees. Music even creepier. And all enemies seeming like they were from hell rather in DKC games. The boss fights had this; bosses screwed up kongs as victims.Which resulted in their death.
I grew way too angry. So angry, I broke The TV screen and my table. This game was driving me insane. I had to do something about it.
I played the game one last time. I was surprisingly at the last level. The level started with a black screen with Donkey Kong. A beaming noise beeped through the level. There was no enemies no obstacles, not even the background. Just Donkey Kong was there. I got to the final boss. It was K Rool. K rool looked normal this time. Candy was near K rool and diddy was turned into turkey. The turkey you eat on thanksgiving.
K rool said
HEY DONKEY,YOUR TOO LATE, YOU WILL NEVER DESTROY ME.
The boss fight started. However, I couldn't fight. The music creeped me out way more than usual and all i could do was run away from K rool. When i predictably lost. K ROOL stared at me with textures far too creepy than the snes version.
I was done with the game. The took it out and destroyed it fully. I buried it under the house and told no one about this.
I did not like DKC anymore. I now like star wars than this. I still never even new why such game like this was even made. I contacted RAREWARE to ask them about the game. They said this.

i did not know why but, i think i got the answer.
I don't really know for sure but i assume that this game was DK's fate. all monkeys and apes fate. What would happen to them. Before i wrote this i took a few screenshots of the game and found out that some monkeys are close to extinction. The game was made in May 8th 2003.
That what was the same day my children did an monkey extinction project for hunters to stop killing monkeys
