Donkey Kong Country Season 2 Episode 0: “Klump”
Hi. My name is Keith. I am 18 years old, and I am a fanatic of Donkey Kong Country the TV show. But an episode I had encountered on the TV station "Freeform" had me change my mind really quick!
The Story
So I was watching Freeform on DirectTV Stream, and the TV said that they were gonna show an unaired episode of Donkey Kong Country. Of course, I was excited! I was a fan of the show! But as the intro starts, things took a dark turn. First, the pitch was lower then normal. I can tell what key the song was in: A♭ instead of B♭. Up to the part King K. Rool and the Kremlings appeared, K. Rool was missing! He was replaced by General Klump, and I said to myself, "Where's King K. Rool? Shouldn't he be there in that part?" I thought it was just an error in the intro. So I kept watching.
After the weird intro, the episode card showed. The episode was called simply "Klump." "Klump"? I ask myself in my head Does this episode focus on the personality of General Klump? Then the episode plays after a weird/scary video of Donkey Kong pops up for 70 seconds.
The scene cuts to Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong talking to Candy Kong and Dixie Kong about their usual stuff: Bananas and romance. But then Candy asks Donkey Kong something she'd never ask in that show, "What's up with Klump? He seems down, but not what you think...." After that, it cuts to K. Rool's lair; but the area is all scratched up. The K where K. Rool's "throne" is at is a "6." Then the camera focused on King K. Rool, who looked scared. King K. Rool looked at the camera and said, "To anyone watching this, Klump isn't himself. Call the police QUICK! He wants to kill me!" The camera then focused on a shadowy figure in the distance. It looked reptilian in shape, was plump, and was stout. I thought it was Klump, and I was right. Klump said something in Japanese. It sounded like " 喜びは無限大-レアウェア(Joy is Infinite - Rareware)." Then the camera caught Klump MUTILATING King K. Rool! Like WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT‽ Then the scene ends.
Next, the scene cuts to Krusha rocking back and forth curled up. He looked at the screen and begged the audience, "Don't tell Klump I'm here. Please. If he knows, I'll be crocodile stew! Keith, please do this for me." How did he know my name‽ But I told him, "Yes, Krusha. I'll protect you. I won't tell Klump." But Klump heard everything we said, and he grabbed a Klapgun; he shot the gun that was pointing at Krusha! NO! Not him! The camera focused on all the Klaptraps eating away at Krusha's scaly skin. Blood was squirting out! I couldn't watch! As Krusha was eaten alive, I tried to turn off my television, but it wouldn't turn off! How can a TV show do that‽ The scene cuts out here.
In the last scene, Klump kills all of his Kritter troops, Cranky Kong, Dixie Kong, Diddy Kong, Candy Kong, and Funky Kong with his Klapgun. After that, it cuts to Donkey Kong and Eddie the Mean Ol' Yeti, scared more than ever. Klump was looking for Donkey Kong, so he went to the White Mountains. There, he found DK and Eddie cowering in fear. He pulled out the Klapgun and shot them both. 3 minutes later, they died! Klump then looked at the camera, and he said with a big smile, "This is why you don't mess with me. Stuff like this happens. I hope you have learned a lesson from the episode." And he shoots the camera! The episode ends. No outro.
WHAT KIND OF EPISODE WAS THAT‽ I will never look at the series the same way ever again!
