Fable III - Debbie
I go by the name Char. This is what happened to me in the game of Fable III.
It all started in Bowerstone Industrial, soon after confronting Reaver and his wheel of misfortune I was wandering around town I kept saying to myself, "If I find a pretty girl, I will marry my character to them."
Despite my character being female. I found possibly one of the prettiest girls in-game. Debbie. She was sitting in the bar, drinking some ale. I talked to her, danced with her, etc.
She gave me her quest to deliver a package, and I was off. We soon became good friends, and then I took her on a date. That date, oh that date was horrid. We went to the docks and kissed, that made us lovers. Now, you may be saying. "What's so horrid about getting the girl?"
Well... I didn't. You see, after that I was just walking around. The glowing path had told me to go somewhere. While following the path Debbie said to me, "If I could rip out my heart right now and give it to you. I would." That gave me a fuzzy feeling, seeing as she was truly in love with my character.
We were walking, and I encountered some bandits. Some normal ones and a brute with fire bottles. I quickly dispatched the norms and went after the brute, he had threw a fire bottle towards me and it landed near Debbie. I was quite shocked as I exclaimed, "Gah, watch out Debbie." It appeared she was okay, and I turned away and went back to dispatching the brute. After killing him I went back to grab Debbie's hand, and she was no where to be found. I presumed her dead. I even checked her house where I had picked her up for the date.
A stranger spawned in when I went inside and walked up to me, complaining because I was in 'his house'. I was shocked. I've been wandering the towns for days, searching for her. I've even checked Bowerstone Industrial several times, evicting all houses I own to see who lived there. I've lost my chance with quite possibly the only female worth marrying in the game. Also, I am sorry but I have not been able to find a picture of her on the internet. It seems the game developers don't care much for keeping tabs on their NPCs online. Even the most possibly prettiest girl in-game next to yours (Elise if you play as a male). I don't want to believe she is dead, but what else can I do
Also, take into account this is my first play-through and this was my first date. I didn't know what to do after we went on the date and kissed. I just assumed I had to keep following the glowing trail. But I now know that was wrong. And when I go around Bowerstone Industrial, I always feel as if I'm being watched. Maybe she's angry I let her die in such a cruel manor.
I still don't know what to believe. I escorted an NPC before who took a direct fire bottle but wasn't in the slightest harmed. I don't know what to do or believe anymore. I can't play the story. I just keep going around looking for her. Without her I feel incomplete. I vow I will find her. Or at the least, marry her in my second play through. This is just so bizarre. Could an NPC even die from an indirect attack from another NPC? I know I could have easily killed her myself. But this is just so odd. I don't know what to do. Is she dead? Or is she simply somewhere I can't find her? I've had trouble thinking straight. The extreme amount of guilt is horrid.
