Finding Nemo Video Game: The Secret Backrooms Level

I have seen so many advertisements of Finding Nemo ever since I watched Monster's Inc on videocassette, countless TV ads of the movie kept appearing on TV. One time, I got Spirted Away on DVD and saw an advertisement for a Finding Nemo video game. I was really excited for the game but I didn't buy the game until after the movie because I didn't want the movie to be spoiled for me. I saw the movie when it came out and it was amazing, after I left the theater I stopped by Wal-Mart to get a copy for my PlayStation 2, and I did. When I got home, I was really excited to play the game for the first time after watching the movie.

Although while playing it, I had a really hard time completing these levels because of the maximum difficulty. It took me 3 hours to beat at least 5 levels of the game. I was really pleased when I got past the Bruce level, soon I was getting ready to play the Anglerfish level. I was prepared for the anglerfish level and while I was getting close to the end of the level, there was a secret path I found and I went through the path.

The Secret Room

It led me to an unfamiliar room I have never seen before and it looked very lonely. This was something I've never seen in the original movie which caught me off guard because Marlin never went to this room in the movie, yet it is featured in the game. It looked like a maze with yellow walls with only a few tanks. It looked like the backrooms that everyone has been talking about on YouTube recently, except it was underwater and had glass windows that led to nothing. It showed a cutscene where Marlin finds Nemo, Dory, and the Tank Gang who just appeared out of nowhere. Marlin was getting confused which made me confused.

Gill was making an escape plan on how to get out of this strange room. Everyone thought it was a great idea. I got to play as Marlin and was swimming in random directions to find my way out of this room. I found the same window where the Tank Gang was and they were gone. The map said the Tank Gang, Dory, and Nemo were following me whenever no one was there. It played a cutscene where Nemo and the Tank Gang were being sucked away inside the large windows screaming for help. Marlin gasped in terror which made me wonder what happened to them.

Suddenly, it took me to a new room which looked like a hallway leading to a dark blue path with fog. I was not having fun anymore with this game to where I am this close to snapping the disc in half. I couldn't control Marlin anymore, the game just forced him to go down the path. At this point, I thought the game was broken or modified by some guy with advanced technology skills. A new cutscene pulled up and I found Dory at the end with a large window.

Dory was knocking on the window, nobody was there. "Ah well, just some mad man trying to scare us." said Dory. The ground started shaking violently and Marlin began to start whimpering. A brown monster ascended from the ground and it looked terrifying. It was bigger than a whale shark and scarier than the anglerfish. It looked like clam, a pelican, and dinosaur head combined. That was all it was. It's bottom jaw was slightly longer than the top. It had no eyes, and it was all brown. The texture of the monster looked like a stone. It let out a bloodcurdling scream that sounded like a woman falling off a building. Marlin was shaking in fear and said "Why did you have to say mad Dory?". And sure enough, the monster made me have diarrhea in my pants and I thought "Oh crap!!"

It started chasing me really quick and had the most eerie music of all time. I was literally screaming along with Marlin as the monster kept getting closer to me. I tried my best to escape the backrooms and I felt like I wasn't going to make it. Unfortunately, I didn't make it and it played a cutscene where Marlin was sleeping on a bed I've never seen in the level. The monster ate Marlin up, then it let out a loud jumpscare with a terrifying close-up of the unidentified monster. The game just stopped, there were no continues in this game. I got a game over screen with red letters with the monster behind it. There was no game over in any other copy of the game, but this one had a game over screen. What was that, it was the most creepiest thing I have ever seen.

I wasn't able to identify what it is, it was just some random creature that was brown and looked like a dinosaur. It made the game unplayable, I couldn't back to the game because it was just stuck in a black screen. The infamous red screen of death came on my screen. Only this time, it didn't have the usual message and it was more of a fatal error. The message said "Your PlayStation 2 requires need of service. Please call Sony Costumer Service".

The Finale

I went to open the PlayStation 2, the disc came out and it was in pieces. My PlayStation 2 was also really hot, so I called the repair man to help me fix my game console. He unscrewed the PlayStation 2 and the console was fried. I told him what happened with the game console. My console couldn't be fixed and I had to pay a fee for all of this. I had no game console to play anymore, and I couldn't afford another PlayStation because that was all of the money I had just to call a repair man, and for buying the game.

The only thing I could do was forget this happened and just do what I usually do everyweek. In November, the movie went to home video and I bought the videocassette for about $10.00 at the most. I had so much fun watching the movie with my friends on that Tuesday night. We were having some pizza, Doritos, and some Pepsi Blue to wash it down. Me and my friends enjoying spending time with each other watching Finding Nemo, just then my girlfriend walked in with an XBOX.

My friends were gasping in surprise, and I did too. We started cheering for the XBOX and were praising my girlfriend. I let my girlfriend join us to play some Halo and Grand Theft Auto: Vice City with us. We were having so much fun that night and I will never forget that night. What I did forget was that Finding Nemo video game. That game was never to see that light of day again.
