Grand Theft Auto 3: Deformed Pedestrian

The Grand Theft Auto games have a large quantity of myths. Any true GTA fan would know about the myths such as "Leatherface" appearing in GTA: San Andreas or a psycotic homeless person appearing in GTA IV. The myth about to be described is similar to many others in different GTA games, but has a vast and blurry story behind it.

The company that developed the series, Rockstar Games, had a recurring subject between the 3D modelers that many pedestrians looked too similar, so one of the employees jokingly created a very deformed pedestrian model to "solve the problem". It was never confirmed by the company that this model actually made it in the game.

Despite GTA 3 being made in 2001, the myth didn't come to life until late 2010.

Any avid GTA fan that wanted to prove the myth true or false would just look in the game files somewhere. No players found the deformed pedestian anywhere in the game files, but that didn't stop players from claiming they've seen it. The deformed model was never found amongst other 3D models, but according to some, the said model was encrypted deep in an audio or texture file as garbled unreadable and undistinguishable text.

The model was explained to have a ripped grey shirt, ripped dark red jeans, a huge jaw jutting forward with some missing teeth, a melted-looking face, droopy lower-than-normal eyes that were completely black and a nose that looked like it was removed and badly stitched back on. There were two explanations as to how to see the hidden model:

  • "You have to walk all the way up to the front door at the Marco's Bistro building, throw a grenade at it, then run away at a distance where your health falls to 1-3. After the explosion, you had to walk up to the door again and stand still for about 2 minutes, then you'll fall through the floor and appear in some small room with the deformed pedestian standing there."
  • "You have to beat the mission 'Rumble' by killing one enemy with your fists, one enemy with a bat, and somehow managing to drown all the other enemies. Then you go all the way back to Portland and stand right up to the front door at Marco's Bistro. After a few seconds, you will be teleported to a small room with the deformed pedestrian in it."

Some players stated that the pedestrian simply stood in one spot and never moved. Other players stated that the pedestrian will punch you at random, and will do 80 damage to your health, even with full armor. It's also been said that attacking the pedestrian will do nothing to it, but eventually if you keep throwing punches it will fall down and make a "Oooh!" sound in a very deep voice, then get back up. Shooting the pedestrian will make him flinch, but will never bleed.
