Half Life 2: Forbidden Shadows

Author's note: PLEASE READ BEFORE CONTINUING: This is an archive of an old story I had written on Google Docs when I was young. I recently came across it again and thought it would be funny to upload it to the Trollpasta wiki, so people can have a good laugh at how bad of a writer I was back then. That being said, enjoy.

It was the year of 2016, and I had received a free copy of The Orange Box from a business convention. I had lots of fun playing Portal and Team Fortress 2, but when I went to play Half-Life 2, the title was apparently "Half-Life 2: Forbidden Shadows". I thought nothing of it and assumed it was some dumb prank that Valve was playing, and opened it.

The Valve logo at the beginning was weirdly distorted, as well as red eyes being present on the Valve Guy. When the title loaded up, and I selected "New Game", I, of course, loaded the first chapter, "Point Insertion". It started off like normal, with G-Man saying "Rise and shine, Mr. Freeman...rise and shine..". However, he started getting evil, saying, "You aren't supposed to be here, Freeman. Get back to where you belong, and forget about all this, Grayson."

How did G-Man know my name?! And why was he saying dialogue from the Half-Life 2 Beta? I thought that dialogue was scrapped.

When I got to the Trainstation, Wallace Breen's City-17 speech was instead replaced by audio of a Polish police chase, which was weird, because I could've sworn Valve was an American company. When I got to the Plaza, the Metro-Police were beheading the civilians! I started getting scared.

Eventually, the game cut to static, and an image of G-Man slowly faded in, as well as Combine Elites surrounding him, as he said, "You shalt not pirate Valve's games, foolish boy. Destroy this copy while you can within 3 days. If you fail, The Combine shall show you true fear."

I am writing this while there is 12 hours remaining in a panic, goodbye.
