Haunted N64 Cartridge

So here's the situation. I got this game from my cousin Cole and it was weird to say the least. I posted my strange encounter on Basilmarket and Facebook, where all my friends told me to come here. They also told me about some story called "Ben drowned." Our encounter is eerily similar.

It all started with my mom going to the hospital to receive blood, I needed a ride home and my Cousin Cole was totally happy to pick me up. He works for Nintendo as a tester and always gets copies of video game betas a.k.a early versions of games before their release, he also has a ton of old games and lets me take some.

I was at his house, so he brought out the boxes and told me to check some out. I noticed a few games I wanted. (Harvest Moon 64, Diddy Kong racing, and Super Castlevania 4) Anyway as he began to put the boxes away I noticed a little black box underneath where he would normally put the big boxes.

I grabbed it and inside was an N64 cartridge with no sticker on it. In the spot where the sticker should be it said "Hexen" in black permanent marker. I was totally stoked!!! I hadn't played Hexen in years and was amazed Cole had it. I asked him if I could have it, but he seemed hesitant to give it to me, not because he wanted it, but as if he felt it would be a burden on me.

He said "Do you really want it?

"Hell yeah! This would really take me back!"

"Okay but you can't save your game without a controller pak."

"It's cool I bought 1 like a month or 2 ago for Pefect Dark." he then said something unnerving to me.

He said " If you can't keep it anymore, bring it back." I got a little creeped out because he literally said "If I CAN"T keep it, bring it back."

Can't? what's that supposed to mean? Anyways I thew the bag of games in the corner and we started to play some other games. A little later I left for home.

When I got home I did some stuff around the house then watched t.v. It was about 12:00 a.m when I decided to try out Hexen. This was the moment I had been waiting for, so pumped to cleave through some chaos serpents. I turned on the game and when I got to the loading screen I selected load game, I knew I had no saves because it was a new controller pak and Hexen doesn't save files onto the cartridge but I do that with literally every new game I get ( kind of an OCD thing I guess.) Anyway I noticed something strange right off the bat. (Ben drowned similarity) There was a save on my controller pak!

All I could think about this file was, WTF? It was considerablly far into the game and the file name was "Bradley" strange, especially to a guy who names all his profiles something immature, or vulgar. There is no possible way to save Hexen onto the cartridge and my controller pak was empty besides for some Perfect Dark characters. I assumed it had to do with the blank cartridge, maybe this "Bradley" messed with it so he can save to the cartridge. I trid to save my file (analbag.) (told you) but when I pulled out the controller pak there were no saves, not even Bradley.

Anyway I decided to ignore Bradley and just play with Analbag (I know.) When I started the game, immediately I noticed differences. For example does anyone remember your character screaming out things like "die!" "no more!" or "this ends here!" I certainly don't.

What about (and this is where Ben Drowned smilarities start to kick in) the backgroung music being reversed constantly? U don't notice at first due to lack of BGM but eventually when it kicks in its backwards, which sounds fucking creepy. It doesn't end there. The enemies keep dying too! Out of nowhere like there being hit by invisble swords!! Da Phuck?! But the absolutely creepiest thing, is Skorge from the front cover of the game's box art. He keeps saying things like "Are you having fun?"

"Don't leave" and the worst "GAME'S OVER!!!!" All of Skorge's coments are starting to weird me out, so as I went to hit the power switch, my character screamed, fucking loud, as he dropped dead. I then attempted to go to bed. I swear, every time I started to fall asleep, I would hear that fucking scream in my head again! After finally passing out I had a truly terrifying dream.

If you've ever played Hexen, you would know that before you enter the second level, Skorge says "Greetings mortal. Are you ready to die?" Well as I was dreaming, I was sleeping under this big tree in a field not far from my house. I wake up and happen to notice something way off in the distance, it was moving towards the field. It got closer and closer and every time it got closer I breathed heavier, my heart beat faster, and I started to get really paranoid and anxious.

When it started to get close I noticed it was very tall and not walking, but hovering toward me. As it got very close, I noticed it was him, Skorge. He got closer and closer until I thought I would burst with fear. I was paralyzed, and couldn't move for the life of me.

He made it directly in front of me, inches away. He began to lean right into my face, he turned toward my ear and whispered "Greetings Bradley. Are you ready to die?" I woke up, drenched in sweat, upon that very moment his voice echoed through my ear. I decided I have to ask Cole about this game.
