Jeff the Killer in Gravity Falls

This is a still image that was taken by Disney XD executives during the production of the episode, "The Legend of the Gobblewonker".

The image depicts Mabel poking at Dipper in the woods with an ominous figure standing in the background with a knife. This figure is said to be Jeff the Killer, an internet legend that originated in CreepyPasta folklore. The character for this specific individual almost resembles Dipper, but has longer hair and dons a white hoodie and black pants and shoes. His facial features remain the same as described in the urban legend.

When staff saw this image, they erased the character in the drawings and went on with the production, and gave us the image we know to this day, with nobody else but Mabel and Dipper.

But the image was posted on Google by someone in the chain, and wanted to get the word out. This person was never fired, but was let off with a warning. The creator of Gravity Falls, Alex Hirsch, said that he wanted to put Jeff the Killer into the show since the legend was famous around the internet at the time, but quickly dismissed it, saying that the character would be too scary for children.

To this day, the image is still uploaded to Google, and Alex still has deep thoughts about putting Jeff in the show, but contemplates on how to make him child-friendly for kids. With Gravity Falls coming to an end with the final episode, guess Alex missed his chance to spread the legend of Jeff the Killer.
