Kaneva's Menace
What the f is happening here? Over the past week, I have been "battling" it out with some entity in the game and there just seems to be no end in sight. Last Monday I was working on one of my hangouts (building an intricate building with only the Kaneva made blocks) when a black avatar spawned out of nowhere; now when I say black, I mean this avatar had no textures to it other than a uniform black wrap—or more apropos, like a void in the game in the shape of an avatar. There was no name over the avatar—I did have the graphics set to where I could see names—nor was there a name anywhere in the chat box; this was not a glitch that I had heard other people talk about where someone can sneak in when even when the place is closed.
After a moment of thought, I just chalked it up to a glitch. I'm accustomed to people roaming around while I'm building, so I thought nothing of it until I noticed that certain blocks and panels were missing. I looked in my inventory thinking that perhaps I misremembered placing them (I do keep track of what I have placed), but the inventory does not show that I have put something back in. I rotated my camera around and noticed that the black figure standing next to a block, and then the block disappeared—vanished! I immediately opened my inventory to see if it went back in (perhaps a glitch?) but nothing. One by one I saw as my place was being deconstructed whenever the black figure would stand next to an item. It, or whoever it was, was stealing my hard work!
Keep in mind, I don't anger too easily—especially when it comes to stuff bought with rewards—but this made me so mad that I tried to kick it out, but with only my user name showing up on the in zone-list, there was nothing I could do to stop it. No matter what I said or did, it just kept taking down my stuff. When it finally left, I re-bought all the missing panels and blocks and put them back up—after, of course, sending a ticket to technical support. I put it behind me and continued with my work; what's the point in crying over spilt rewards?
Exactly the same thing happened when I came back the next day to continue. It took down even more this time, despite my protestations, but there was nothing I could do. I just signed off in frustration and sent in another ticket. Every day since, this has gone on without a word from support, and now the place is completely barren.
Until I talked to one of my friends a couple of days ago, I thought I was being punished for something, but she told me that others have experienced the same "ghost", as she put it, but no one can explain what is going on. We both talked to a game master and he assured us that this couldn't be a result of a hacker or anyone in administration. This is really getting frustrating since this figure has begun deconstructing another of my places. I finally got a screenshot of "it" destroying one.
