Mario's Red Tower
Author's note: This story isn't real. I wrote it to entertain people! Enjoy!
"Mario's Red Tower" is an extremely rare event that possibly occurs on any random and old copy of New Super Mario Bros. The event in this story may be a warning, virus, or almost anything.
Story Intro
Like many people, I am a fan of Ninendo games. Although i've started to play other games, I do enjoy to play some of my VERY old games. While searching through a bag of games that were supposed to donated a few years ago, I noticed something. My old copy of New Super Mario Bros was missing from my old Nintendo game bunch. So I decided to search in the basement, the only place that the game would be put in, besides the donation bag. After about an hour, I had almost decided to give up on the game. But then, at the corner of my eye, I notcied a DS game case lying on some boxes. I grabbed it, and there it was, New Super Mario Bros.

Although, something seemed off about the game's cover. It was weird. The cover showed the classic Mario pose where he punches his fist at the screen, but his eyes were pitch black. The game's title words; "New Super Mario Bros" seemed very small in font. I was pretty sure this was the incorrect cover, but I didn't care all that much. For I was very eager to play this game. I tried making the game work on my DS, but my dad said the dust must be messing with the game. By the time I finished "cleaning" the game, it was nightime. I inserted New Super Mario Bros into my DS, the DS was old, but I knew it would work. When the game loaded up, it was just a black screen. I hadn't played this game for years, and so I was unaware of how most of the game went. When the game began, it had a nightime scenario instead of summer, flowers, and that kind of scenary. I was very confused when I saw that. I could only choose one save file, since the other ones weren't even there. The save file said the world it was on was "RED". I was VERY confused now. When I selected "RED", I appeared at the beginning of World 8. I was unsure to if I had played the game over again a few years ago, but stopped when I got to here. I went through World 8, and everything seemed fine. Except at the end of every regular level, after Mario slid down the flagpole, he stared at the screen and a text box appeared saying, "Unworthy". After Bowser Jr's 2 towers, he would always jump off the screen followed by a strange, demonic-sounding noise. I was beginning to get freaked out.
When I came to the first Bowser, instead of the normal battle, Bowser just looked at Mario for a while. He then said, "you will never find him!" Bowser then began ripping apart his bone body, and then roared at Mario before smashing his face onto the floor, causing the battle to immediatley finish. Now, I was seriously creeped out by this. Although, I continued to the final castle. The final castle was normal, mostly. Every once in a while, I thought I saw a sillouheted Mario following my Mario. When I arived at the final battle, I was prepared for something odd to occur, but all seemed normal. But when I managed to defeat Bowser Jr, demonic music began to play as Bowser picked up Mario. He roared at Mario as the demoic music became much louder. I had to put the DS down and back up, just for the sounds not to break my ear drums! When the loud noise stopped, I picked up my DS slowly. Mario was outside the castle, but this time, a different path led into a nearby cave. I decided to go in. At this moment, I was beginning to question if I should even keep this game anymore, it was really creeping me out.
When I entered the cave, it was pitch black except for Mario and a patch of light around him. I managed to reach the cave's exit, and found an odd discovery. A long, level-less road leading to a tall tower was in front of me. The tower was alligned with flags having red skulls on them. While walking to the castle, I saw 3 signs. They said, " You will die", " Death can't be stopped", and " Go back!" When I reached the tower, the transition that begins the level said that the tower was called "Red Tower". It was a level for going up while the screen follows you "hate those levels." As I went up further, demonic music in the background became louder. There were far more Dry Bones then in most levels. It took me about 40 times, but I finally reached the top. The demonic music was BLARING now, and so I went into the boss door as soon as possible. The demonic music stopped when I entered. The hall to the boss room was extremley long. The wall was covered with paintings showing pixelated corpses. I was very tempted to stop the game, but my curiosity told me to keep going. At the "boss" room, I found the dead bodies of Luigi and Toad. I also found Princess Peach hanged on the wall. Her bloody pixel face then stared at Mario. The screen was then replaced with a text box saying:
YOU'RE LATE MARIO, YOU'RE ALWAYS LATE...
My DS then shut off.
The next day, I searched the internet for information about this, but I found nothing. So I asked my friend, since he had once worked with Nintendo. He told me a tale, a man named James working at Nintendo wanted to make an extra and possibly secret horror-type world in New Super Mario Bros. When he presented his World idea to Nintendo, and showed a "demo" of it, it was immediatley declined. Nintendo knew this would freak out children, causing Nintendo's rates to plummit. But 1 month later, a Nintendo worker said he found the mysterious "World 9" while working on the game. James was fired, despite his pleads that he didn't re-add it. A few weeks after that, Nintendo people searched through James' computer work history, and saw that he had never re-added the horror world. Nintendo tried to find him so he could be re-hired, but couldn't find him after that. When the main computer was checked, the World had apparently been re-added by some one with the username "RED". But Nintendo were able to delete the 9th World just before the game was released. Although, according to my friend, apparentley 4 copies weren't able to be deleted of World 9 in time. Even to this day, no one knows who "RED" actually is, or why he did this.
