Mouse Appropriation

I'm sorry, but don't you think "cheesed to meet ya" is maybe a bit culturally insensitive? Nowadays people have appropriated the word cheesed so far extended from its original meaning that those friendly mice would be ashamed to see its facetious popularity.

It even finds casual use in subreddit names, like cheesedtomeetyou.

I don't have a scientific study to back this up but a big contributor to this imo is the insane influx of Looney Tunes into young adult life in today's society which just allows Mouse words to easily slip into the English vernacular. Everyone knows what cheesed, uhm, and this are, but they know nothing about their cultural origin. It's like if a foreigner started incorporating the use of American slang words into their every day language - it would be incredibly cringe. And it's cringe in every form.

Stop watching Looney Tunes. Stop casually saying Mouse words like cheesed. Stop appropriating Mouse culture.
