I walked out of the game store, with a smile on my face. After several days of searching, I was finally able to buy my own copy of Need for Speed: Rivals for my Xbox One. Ever since I first tried out the game at a friend`s house, I had been yearning fora chance to own my very own copy. Now that i did, I happily made my way home to try it out.

Once I got home I gleefully opened the case to put the disc inside my xbox. However, when I looked at the disc itself, the label looked a bit worn, with parts of it even missing. Granted, I did purchase the game used but whoever owned this particular copy before me must have taken horrible care of their games.

Anyway, once I placed the game into the console, I went straight to the option that let me play as the cop. As the cop, you are able to track down speeders and apprehend them by crashing into their cars. I enjoyed this feature very much when I got to try it at my friend's and it also reminded me of the days when I played Hot Pursuit. Once I selected my car, I was happily enjoying driving down the open road, bringing down racers and admiring the stunning visuals that the game boasted.

After some time, my car had reached critical levels of damage and I was in dire need of a repair shop. Using the GPS feature, I was able to start following the trail to the nearest one. As I drove the sky started to get rather dark. I though it looked nice, as I enjoyed this game's weather features. Suddenly a flash of lightning lit up the screen as the in-game environment started to experience heavy rain. Though it made some of the road difficult to see, I was confident enough to continue without sustaining damage.

As I turned on to a long stretch of highway, I then noticed a concerning lack of cars on either side of lanes. Its as if I was the only vehicle on the road. Just then, the game's music dropped out while the sounds kept running. I thought this was very odd, but the combination of the dark rain and lack of music made for a nice, yet somewhat unsettling, atmosphere, even if I was driving fast. I was almost at the repair shop when I saw flashing red and blue lights coming towards me. Thinking a cop was in pursuit of someone, I veered right so as to get out of its way. To my suprise, it realigned itself and was once again on a dead path towards me. I tried to get out of the path again, but the oncoming cop found its way back in front of me.

As the cop finally closed in on me, I heard screeching tires from outside my window. As I turned towards the window, my room was filled with red and blue light, as I saw the headights of out of control police car.
