Night Walk in the Park

I hate camping.

After the incident with "The Kill Waker," and what happened with the Gengar, my parents thought I was under a lot of stress. So they thought we should go camping. But it was just an excuse so they can go camping with my uncle. I thought it was gonna be boring. I was wrong.

So on Friday I got out of school early and went off to Marthin Creek Lake. It took about five hours to get there, and by the time we did it was almost night. While my parents went off to talk to my uncle, I was lying down staring up into the sky wonder how I would survive. Next thing I knew I dozed off.

I woke up a couple minuets later, and to my surprise there was a girl hovering above me. I jumped off out of shock. I spun around to look while she laughed at me. She was about my age, tanned, had jet-black hair, and had a cute smile.

"Did I scare you?" She asked in a mocking tone.

"Yeah," I replied annoyed. "What's your name?"

"Amy," she said while moving closer. "Whats yours?"

"Joshua," I replied nervously.

"Nice to met ya. Say would you like to hang out with me tomorrow?"

"Uh, sure."

"Great! See ya tomorrow!" She said while running off.

I couldn't sleep that night. I had two feelings in my gut. One was being nervous because that was the first time a girl asked me out. The other feeling was that something bad was going to happen.

I woke up around nine the next morning. After putting on my clothes I went outside and to my surprise there was Amy.

"Morning. Can you please stop scaring the piss out of me?" I asked with a smile.

"Hehe. Whatever. You ready?" She asked.

"Yeah let's go."

With that we walked off down the road.

"Say where are we going?" I asked her.

"My secret place I found." She said with a evil smile.

I thought she was gonna do something evil to me. But in about three minutes we reached the place. It was in a ditch with a concrete floor and a pipe.

"Why are we here?" I asked really confused.

"Look." She said pointing to the lake.

It was beautiful. Not to mention the forest in between was also nice to look at.

"Joshua, turn this way." She said in a whisper.

I turned around and wound up getting a kiss. I was amazed when it happened. It was my first kiss and it felt amazing.

"Why did you..." I began to ask before I got interrupted.

"I like you idiot. Don't you feel the same about me?" She asked in a quiet tone.

"Yeah..." I said while blushing.

"Great!" She said, "Can you met me back here at night?

"Yeah, why?"

"Didn't you know? This place has a ancient myth. The myth is if that a couple goes around walking in the woods at night a strange creature appears and does..."

"Does what?" I asked curious.

"Nobody knows." She said, "There were people missing a couple days ago and I'm curious. So I'll see back here at 10 o'clock. Bye!" She said running off.

"Shit," I said to myself, "How the hell did I get myself in this mess?"

I arrived at 9:55 PM and waited for her. She arrived soon after and we went off into the woods. While walking I was getting nervous and it felt like I was getting colder every time I took a step.

"You better know what yo..." Was all I said until Amy pulled me down.

"Shut up and look!" She said pointing toward something.

What I saw was truly horrifying. It was a large naked creature, with random patches of hair on its body. It resembled a rat in a way and had a huge tail. The scariest thing was that it was eating a person. I kept staring, speechless, afraid what might happen if it sees us. Amy gave me the signal to leave but I accidentally cracked a branch sneaking away. I looked back to see the creature staring at us.

"Run." I said beginning to run like hell.

Amy and I were running away from the monster. I look back to see the creature on Amy's tail.

"Get out of the way!" I yelled trying to help her.

She barely dodged the creature pounce. We kept running and dodging the creature's attacks until we came back to the campground. When we got to my camp the creature was gone. But I had a chill up my spine for hours

The next day me and Amy said our good-byes and exchange phone numbers. I watched as her and her family leave until her car was out of sight. Then me and my family packed up and left the campground. But on the way out, I swear I saw something moving in the bushes.
