Not Real

A few years ago, a letter came to my front step. It wasn't the type of letter you would expect to receive. It wasn't sealed in an envelope, had no stamp, no return address, etc. Nope. In fact I'm even wondering how it managed to arrive at my front step. The letter was basically just a piece of torn paper. Scribbled on it was just a URL to a website of some sort. Curiously, I entered the URL into my internet browser. The website that popped up was what seemed to be a gaming website. Excitedly, I started playing some games. I don't know why, they seemed just like your average internet games, but for some reason, I was having the most fun I had ever had. I must have been on the website for the rest of that day, but later (I'm not sure what time it was when it happened, but it was some time during the middle of the night), my computer mysteriously shut down.

I was in the middle of playing a game when it happened, so I was really furious. But still, I quickly rebooted my computer and re-entered the website URL. The website wouldn't display. All it showed was an error saying that the requested URL was not found. I figured I must have entered the URL wrong, so I tried a few more times, but the website simply refused to show up. I was confused and furious at the same time by this point. But I was feeling pretty tired by then, so I left the note on my desk, and went to bed.

The next morning, I woke up, and went to my desk to where I had left the note. But it wasn't there. Over the next few weeks, I grew rather depressed and aggravated over the website. I started to go insane at times. I guess you could call me obsessive. And it wasn't until just yesterday that my sadness turned into great fear. Another note got delivered to my front step, very similar to the note I got before, that read "That's the world. Happiness, kindness, and enjoyment are just made to be taken away. None of it is true. It's just not real."
