"Amber, wake up! It's time for breakfast!"

I grumble lightly as I get woken up by my mother as usual. I giggle a bit when Ebony, my Umbreon, hops up and gives my cheek a lick like she does every morning. "Good morning~" I smile, lifting her off of me so I can get out of bed and change into my usual outfit, shorts and a T-shirt, nothing too special. Ebony quickly follows me down the stairs, through the living room, and into the kitchen as I sit down to begin eating my breakfast.

"Any special plans today dear?" My mother asks me as she fills up two bowls with pokemon food, putting them down onto the floor in their usual spot. Ivory, her Glaceon, slowly made her way inside the house from the backyard and over to her food bowl. I can't help but smile at the two pokemon, reaching down and petting Ebony on the head before going back to eating. I glance back down at the two, getting a curious look on my face when it almost looked like Ivory was whispering something into Ebony's ear. Shrugging it off, I went back to my own meal, getting a slight chuckle as I thought about possible pokemon gossip topics and if Ivory heard something about one of the neighbors' pokemon.

I quickly finish up the last bit of my toast and place the dishes into the sink. "Come on Ebony, we're going to see Violet today~" She smiled, Ebony quickly coming after be as I head towards the front door. I pause when passing through the living room, a news story playing catching my eye.

"...a suspect is still yet to be named in this vicious attack. Investigators are still stumped on the reason behind this event, but clues point to it being a pokemon attack." The reporter said, moving onto a new topic. A long frown slowly forms on my face as I listen to the story, trying my best to shake it off. "Come on Ebony..." I sigh, moving away from the television and continue on my way out of the house.

"See you later mom!" I call back into the house, making sure I have everything I need before leaving and closing the door behind me. I quickly head down the sidewalk with Ebony right by my side, unable to shake all of the questions in my head. Why would a pokemon suddenly kill someone like that? They usually just hurt people in defense if it's called for, but I've never heard of a death before. I try my best to escape these horrible images in my head as I continue on my way.

Nothing out of the ordinary happens for most of the day, I have fun hanging out with Violet and her Purrloin, the pokemon having fun together as well.

"Bye Violet! Come on Ebony." I smile, waving goodbye to my friend as I make my way back home. I stare up at the light pinks and oranges of the sunset sky, Ebony's yellow body rings slowly starting to glow like they usually do. I almost trip over my own feet when a sudden screech of car tires appears behind me. I was forced to jump out of the way as the car raced towards me and Ebony. I watched in horror as the car crashed head on into a tree, making sure Ebony was alright before moving up to the wreck to see if anyone could have somehow survived. The sight inside the car made my face turn white. The driver was dead, but that wasn't the thing that horrified me...A lifeless Weavile was laying slumped over the dashboard, blood from its trainer covering its claws and arms.

"C-come on Ebony..." I say quietly, quickly running from the scene with the horrible image burned into my mind. This was the second pokemon-related death in one day, what was going on? By now I was starting to get frightened. Would a pokemon suddenly jump out and attack me next? I let out a long sigh of relief once I was safely in my house. My mother's usual 'Welcome home!' coming from the living room helping to comfort me. At least everything was normal in here.

A few days pass and everything seems to be back to normal. I slip my shoes on and make sure I have my money before heading for the pokemart to get some things for my mother. Ebony followed next to me as always, but something seemed to be a little off. She was quieter than usual. I try my best to shake it off as just my nerves still a bit shaky from what I had witnessed a few nights before. I slow down and stop when a strange noise seems to be coming from a short distance away. It suddenly hits me, it's someone's voice!

Without a word, I run towards the noises. I stop cold once I get to the source of the screaming, having to force my lunch back down after seeing the nightmarish sight. Violet slowly reached towards me, too weak to speak as her Purrloin tore into her back with its sharp claws. "Ebony, stop her!" I say as I fell into a panicked state. My eyes widen as I watch Ebony simply yawn and sit down on the ground to watch the horrific scene, a small grin seeming to grow on her face. "Ebony! What is wrong with you?!"

Violet eventually fell limply onto the ground when her pokemon's claws pierced her heart. My eyes slowly filled with tears as I looked back at her, Purrloin sitting on top of her, blood covering her purple and white fur. The cat pokemon quickly ran away from the scene, leaving bloody paw prints on the white pavement behind her. I cover my mouth with my hands when I see what Purrloin had been covering up; my best friend's spine was visible in the large wound that had been clawed into her. Tears start to stream down my face as I look around to try and find help, Ebony missing from my side. I quickly get back up to my feet and retreat back to my home, just trying to hide from what was happening.

Screams of pain or fear begin to erupt from houses or around corners as pokemon start to rip into their trainers, tears falling off my chin and down to the pavement as my fear rapidly grew. I soon make it back to what I thought would be my only safe haven. I throw open the door to my home, blood splashing over me as Ivory tore open my mother's throat with her teeth in front of me. I fall down onto my knees, legs giving out from the sheer horror of what I was seeing. Paralyzed by fear, and unable to move, I am forced to watch as the once loyal pokemon turned her frosty blue fur red. My eyes slowly turn to watch in fear as Ebony appeared from behind our couch and slowly approach me. The two pokemon eventually start glaring at me, the moments feeling like an eternity. They suddenly lunge at me, sinking their teeth into my flesh.

I scream in terror as I wake up in my bed. I slowly sit up and look around my dark bedroom, putting a hand on my forehead as I try to calm myself down. I glance towards the foot of my bed to see Ebony looking up at me, using the bed to balance herself. If I look closely...I swear she's glaring at me...
