The Beginning

The creepy title screen

It all happened when I logged on to scratch a few days ago, It's still so vivid and fresh in my mind. It started off when I received a message from the scratch team. "Damn it" I thought to myself. "What have I done this time." I was almost certain it would've been some dumb thing and one of my projects got removed or something. But instead, I was greeted with a very unfamiliar message. It read something along the lines of: Hello we are happy to tell you that you are one of the lucky scratchers to test out a project from the scratch team! It's called: "Scratch Cat's Awesome Adventure!" Click here to download." I was so confused but excited at the same time. I clicked the download button but it led me to a page that didn't exist. The URL was just a whole bunch of numbers and letters. But then I noticed at the end it had the . Onion domain so I knew I had to get the onion browser. I downloaded it and copy and pasted it into the URL in the onion browser. It started downloading something called 'Scratch Cat'. I waited for it to download but it was a really large file, for a scratch project. Like 2GB or something. I waited for it to finish downloading and then clicked on it to run the game. The project took a while to load but then it finished so I clicked the green flag to start the project.

The Project

I decided to record this and then planned to edit it with a tts commentary. Once the menu screen popped up it had a rainbow version of Scratch Cat on the side and a play button. at the top of the screen it read, "Scratch Cat's Awesome Adventure!" And this felt normal. So I clicked the play button. But then something really weird happened. The whole screen for a brief second flashed into a distorted version of the main menu but I couldn't see the whole thing because of how fast it was. However, my screen recorder captured the creepy title screen and I wouldn't see it fully until after the whole thing.

Where it All Goes Downhill

Jumpscare

The game started off with Scratch Cat saying "Hello! will you help me avoid these obstacles?" And then I put yes in the little answer box. "Great!" Scratch Cat answered. "Lets go!" The game then proceeded to be a normal side scroller with spikes coming in Scratch Cat's way. But then I accidentally hit one of the spikes and it then suddenly cut to scratch cat down a long but not so creepy hallway. However only a few seconds went by and then there was a sudden jumpscare of Scratch Cat's head on screen with an ear bleeding scream and static it sounded like your ears were about to burst! The jumpscare ended with a disturbing set of text. It said, "I know this isn't real. This world I live in... It's fake. But I want out. And you can't stop me." After a while it cut to an eerie title screen with scratch cat on the side twitching and a red button that said 'play' on an endless black void. I felt like I had no other choice but to click play.

The Terror

The game cut to a dark office room. It had so much detail. There were three doors, one behind me and two beside me. There was also a window in front of me. Some red text popped up on screen telling me what I had to do. It said: "keep the doors shut tight, don't look out the window, only the computer screen. Teehee! PRESS K TO CLOSE POPUP." I clicked the computer screen and it loaded up 3 cameras and they were both just outside the doors. Scratch Cat was outside one so I ran to that door, which was the one behind the player, and locked it with keys that were on the desk. When I looked on the computer screen, he was gone. I tried to lock the other doors. but then red text popped up saying: You can only lock one door. Unlock the other to lock this one." So I couldn't do that. I decided to look at the window and Scratch Cat was right there, staring right through my soul. Scratch Cat eventually shattered the glass and then jumpscared me with a loud scream, stabbing the player, and then my computer blue screened. When I turned on my computer again I realized the Scratch Cat file was no longer there. I had a sigh of relief until I realized my screen recorder was also missing and the video file ended when I clicked play on that creepy title screen with Scratch Cat twitching. I've never been so scared in my life on that day. Sometimes I feel as if I'm being watched...
