Shared Soul
I used to work full time as a scientist, we would discuss all sorts of different things, Life & Death, Diseases, etc; so I had an idea, that if you killed someone, they would become a part of you, the only way to explain it was a shared soul.
We decided to put it to the test, we had 3 people that "had nothing left to live for" be the subjects (they opted to come here themselves).
After questioning them, We realized they were all murderers, I began to feel a bit uneasy when I heard them say that, but I still carried on, going with what they were saying, we asked why they murdered people.
The first one, had no reason other than he loved to kill people, he loved watching them die right in front of him, it gave him a sense of pleasure, and self accomplishment.
The second however, loved the noise when someone was stabbed, he described it as a "squelch" Now I felt I was going to be sick.
The third, had no reason, so we done some tests and realized, he was a psychopath.
Knowing they were murderers we had to keep them restrained during all of this, so now we had to decide who was going to do it, who was going to be a murderer for life, and if this works, Who will have a shared soul.
My best friend decided to do it, he was always in a clinical state of depression nowadays so I really felt bad for him, but there was no way I was going to do it, I was never going to be a murderer I could easily have someone in my science group Die rather than me, Be it my best friend or even my brother, I would still be happy it wasn't me.
So he knew he had to kill the first one, there was no way out, I wouldn't let him, or else i might have to do it.
Before he done it, we heard someone shout "STOP" We see it was the second "victim" as i liked to call them, he demanded he used a knife to kill him, so he could hear the "squelch" one last time, the other subjects seemed okay with this, not that I cared.
Grabbing a knife off the scientist, he done it, he was now officially a murderer. He stated he had a feeling of happiness and self accomplishment, but after looking directly at the body, he felt extremely guilty, but he said it was a guilty pleasure...
We instantly knew this was the first victims mindset, and before we knew it, we heard a "Squelch" we turned to see him stabbing the second subject with a massive smile on his face, he didn't feel guilty this time, and just killed the last subject without thinking.
When he killed them, I felt happy... I don't know what it was, but thinking about it now, I still feel happy
Then the time came for the third one, he has been looking at me from the start, and I cant wait to see him die, he killed him, I am now extremely happy, But he grabs a scientist, and threatens to kill him if we don't find someone for him to kill right now, I said "just kill him!" Others looked at me in disbelief I feel like I am the victim of all of this, Why me? why not anyone else?
Following my advice, he kills him... but he put his knife to my neck and says, "Your soul is more corrupted than mine, you're next."
There is no way I can tell the police about what we have done, I know my friend is in there somewhere, I just hope he finds himself before he finds me.
