Sombbles

The Powerpuff Girls is a good classic show on Cartoon Network. I loved it growing up, and I still do. However, there is one tragic story I am going to tell you.

I was in a lifeline shop, and I was looking for some DVDs that might interest me. Not long after, my eyes were peeled on a Powerpuff Girls DVD. When I looked at it, it was labelled as big collection of 10 Episodes.

I was very surprised to see this, I asked my mum if I can get it, and she said yes.

The day after, it was raining, and my mum said she will be going to work. As she left, I've decided to watch my new Powerpuff Girls DVD.

For an hour, I watched the first nine episodes one the DVD. There were episodes I remember seeing in my childhood, some of my favourites, and ones I've never watched before.

However, there was one episode that I'll never forget.

After the ninth episode, there was a screen which said:

It's time for a never before seen episode of The Powerpuff Girls all the way back in 2007.

I was confused by this, but I shrugged it off.

The intro played normally. However, the theme song was reversed. I was very baffled. The episode's title card was "Sombbles"

"An episode focusing on Bubbles, eh? Why would it be sad?"

The episode started with a shot of Townsville and the narrator saying his famous catchphrase, "The City of Townsville!"

It showed the house of the Powerpuff Girls. It zoomed into the window, and when we saw the girls' room, Bubbles was alone in their, sitting on the bed. She was all sad, for some reason.

The animation was the same as how it looked in "The Powerpuff Girls Movie", by designs.

She looked on the floor miserably, and her eyes started to fill up with tears. She cried softly. However, her sobs started to get louder, until her sisters, Blossom and Buttercup, came into the room.

"Bubbles, what's wrong?" Blossom asked.

Bubbles continued to cry.

"Oh, shut up, you big baby. "Buttercup said in annoyance, facepalming.

"I don't want to talk about it." Bubbles finally said.

Blossom and Buttercup exchanged confused glances at each other.

"I'm going outside for some air,"

Bubbles flew out of the house. She flew over Townsville, still sad. She then flew into a forest. Bubbles sat behind a tree to wallow.

She sat there for a good 30 Seconds. However, a silhouette of a figure walked up to her. Bubbles lifted her head up and looked at the figure. When she looked up, the figure was Fuzzy Lumpkins (with that same psychotic appearance from The Powerpuff Girls Movie).

Bubbles shrieked in horror at what she was seeing right now and Fuzzy Lumpkins pounced on her before the screen cut to black.

That night, Buttercup and Blossom went to look for their sister. Not long until, they saw a puddle of blood in the woods, so they went to investigate it.

They were shocked to see that the puddle of blood belonged to their dead sister, Bubbles. She had her arm bitten off, her leg was bruised, she was missing her eyes, a bit of her flesh was exposed and she was bleeding from her mouth.

I couldn't resist seeing what I was seeing right now. I went to the bathroom and vomited in the toilet.

After vomiting, I went to see the rest of the episode. Blossom and Buttercup then embraced each other and cried over the death of Bubbles.

However, every major villain from the show; Mojo Jojo, Him, Fuzzy Lumpkins, The Gangreen Gang, Princess Morbucks, Sedusa, The Rowdyruff Boys and the Amobea Boys showed up behind them. They all had evil grins on their faces and leaped onto Blossom and Buttercup and started beating them.

The girls screamed and screamed and screamed as they were being pummeled until they died. Their screams didn't sound very cartoon-like; they sound very real.

It showed the pulsating heart background at the end of every episode except for "Documentary". However, it was all dark, and the Narrator was crying.

"And so, the day is doomed, thanks to every villain in Townsville. Oh, poor Powerpuff Girls. They didn't deserve this!"

Then the credits rolled without the major upbeat song. And there was no Cartoon Network Logo.

I got very angry I ejected the disc and destroyed it.

That night, I didn't sleep, I kept thinking about the episode until the next morning.

Don't buy a DVD if you think it would ruin your childhood, because I did. Whatever were the producers thinking about making this episode?

I haven't watched the Powerpuff Girls ever since that day. It keeps coming back to me every day...
