Someone stole my shoes

It was a windy, cold and dark night in the castle I inherited from my mysterious uncle after he went missing a few days ago.

The floorboards creaked and the mysterious sounds of chains rattled within the very walls themselves. I walked around with naught but a candle to illuminate my path. But where was I walking? I knew not.

I came across an electronic keypad in the wall and tapped in my Uncle's birthday. A stone door slid to the side, and as I walked into the room, I was met with computers showing all sorts of classified information on ghosts and aliens. I sat down at the computer to investigate further. Would this finally solve the mystery of my missing uncle?

Then the door slid softly shut behind me with no apparent way to open it again. I heard a sound of soft mocking laughter as I looked down and saw... my shoes has been removed.

All I could hear echoing around the castle now was not floorboards creaking, but the sound of my shoes walking. And I'm still here trapped in the room.
