Sonic's Final Adventure
I don't think I can ever play Sonic Adventure anymore...
One day, I decided to look on Craigslist for a used SEGA Dreamcast so I could experience the games of that era. I found one and it was rather cheap: It only cost $5.99 and it came with Sonic Adventure- although the original cover was taken out and had a little paper with "SoNiC aDvEnTuRe" written on it. I ignored it and bought it.
A few days later the Dreamcast came in, along with the game. I ran up to my room and set it up. The game started out normal, although the title screen was blood red and the logo was in ruins. All the while I heard an evil, faint laughter. I ignored it since I've never played the game before.
I went to the character select screen and looked to see if all the characters were there. Instead of Gamma, Amy (Thank god...), and Big. It had Shadow, Rouge, and some strange new robot. Normally, Sonic would be the only character available at the start, but the robot was selectable too. I went ahead and picked it, hoping for some Gamma-like gameplay (I loved the Gamma levels.).
The game started in the ruined Station Square.... only without all the water. Lifeless citizens lined the streets. I noticed before it disappeared the mission saying "Hunt for Sonic!" This made me smile for some legit Gamma gaming. I proceeded to walk ahead, sadly unable to shoot anything. After 8 minutes of mind-numbing walking, I finally found Sonic. He was different though.... His eyes were blood red, and his fur was like that of the Werehog's. I thought this was just some hacked game I stumbled upon.... until the boss battle started.
Sonic gave no warning of his attack. The robot was destroyed in an instant, right before I realized I had no Rings. Eggman then floated down in his pod and congratulated Sonic- which for this I wanted to slam my face into a wall. Sonic only growled and spin-dashed at Eggman's pod, causing it to explode along with the rotund scientist. The game showed no chance of holding all the gore back. Sonic even caught Eggman's intestines and then ate them hastily and savagely. All the while I heard the evil laughter, only louder and played as if the source was right behind me.
I reset the game and went to the character select. The robot was gone, with only the other 5 characters; only Sonic was unable to be selected. I picked Tails for a second stand against this monstrous Sonic. It sent me to a completely black room, void of any life other than Tails. I couldn't move for 15 minutes, so I thought of quitting. Only when I reached for the start button did Tails die instantly, crushed by an invisible crushing platform. Evil laughter was louder, and I saw something in front of the TV that made me scream. I lost consciousness and woke up a week later.
Something made me go to the Dreamcast and turn it on again, going straight to the disturbing game. It opened with a message saying:
"DiD yOu EnJoY mY lItTlE vIsIt?!?!?!?"
Followed by maniac screams of laughter. I shuddered. What kind of sick fuck would pull this stunt?! I calmed down and picked Knuckles. Sadly, Knuckles's story ended just when it began, only with a blood-curdling scream and maniacal laughter. The same thing happened to Rouge. A message popped up saying:
"wHeN wIlL yOu LeArN yOu CaNt WiN?!"
I got scared and weakly selected Shadow.
Shadow luckily had some gameplay. In fact, he started out fighting Sonic. I felt so powerful fighting him, and I knew Shadow was apparently invincible and couldn't die. Shadow easily won the fight, and his story was complete. Sonic's was then selectable to play. I was scared, but I mustered up the courage to pick it. It started right on Angel Island. Knuckles's corpse was somehow trapped in the Master Emerald. Sonic was staring off into the distance.
Sonic spoke in a soft whisper. "What is my purpose for living? Ever since that day on Flicky Island, everything has changed. I've killed all my friends, even Tails."
He then proceeded to yell out curses and finally says, "I DON'T DESERVE THIS MISERY!"
Instructions for a homing attack came up. I couldn't turn Sonic, so I had to use it. Sonic fell off the cliff, but before he died he said, "If only you hadn't found this game, Eriq. You could have saved those you care for."
His eyes turned red and his fur proofed out.
"NoW I WiLl MaKe YoU pErIsH!!!!" The screen faded to black.
Since then I've spent some time away from people. I don't want anyone to get hurt. I'm afraid he will kill them...
