PART 1

Tails has always been my favourite character from the hit franchise Sonic The Hedgehog. Ever since I was a boy, I've always found myself relating to the crafty fox - You can say that, in a way, I wished for my very own Sonic. A wish that went unfulfilled throughout the hell that was my schooling. When the other kids had finished beating me up, taking me for everything I was worth - I'd return home, tears in my eyes, but not crying. Nobody ever understood me, to them - I was the shy, meek and loser kid. But, as soon as I returned home, I was the game master. I'd boot up Sonic 2 and get straight to gaming, it never got boring - never. I could complete the whole game without taking any damage, simply put, I was a pro.

During one of my usual gaming sessions, something unusual happened. I had been playing as Sonic, with Tails as my trusty sidekick when I noticed - he'd stopped following me. This wasn't particularly strange on it's own, as often with these games all sorts of glitchy things would happen. But, without Tails by my side - I felt I was no longer the game master, I was back in gym. I knew in that moment, I had to go back for him and so I did. Traversing the harrowing green hill with practised ease I was horrified to be met with the pixelated sight of... Tails. But, he wasn't alone... No, an all too familiar sight was alongside him - a sight that made my gut turn. The picture perfect pixelated forms of my tormentors were alongside them, the jocks. Clearly, they'd managed to get inside the game - this was cyberbullying.

Instead of the fear I usually felt however, I felt a different emotion. Power. I looked to Tails, and gave him a nod. Then, with my knowledge as the game master, I crouched Sonic down and charged up a spin dash. I'd dreamed of this moment, spin dashing my tormentors once and for all. And with that, I released and with a satisfying "WHOOSH!" Sonic went flying towards the two Jocks. **CRUNCH**

Tails had held his hand out - stopping Sonic mid spin dash. I froze, looking to Tails with a confused look - what was he doing? And then to my horror, I watched as Tails threw Sonic flat on the ground before joining in with the jocks as all three of them began to kick Sonic while he was down - an all too familiar sight. I felt tears in my eyes, but not crying. At the end of the horrific beatdown, Tails reached into Sonic's pocket, and took what looked to be his money and then - he simply jumped off the stage, the Jocks following shortly after.

Why had Tails done this? The crafty fox who'd always looked up to and admired Sonic. None of it made sense. With the horror fresh in my mind, I took to the internet forums and I began to voice my story to anybody who would listen. At first, there were no responses and I was beginning to lose hope. Until, an anonymous user commented, "This happened to me as well." What followed, was a private exchange of our experiences - I knew I had to be cautious, so I made sure to use incognito mode. After a bit of chatting back and forth, the user sent me an address, which lucky enough was in the park right nearby - I didn't hesitate, I got prepared and headed straight out.

Arriving in the park, I looked around and saw nobody. Had I gotten the wrong address? I was about to head back when I heard a gruff voice. "...You came alone?" Turning, my eyes widened - it was Sonic! Only, he was all bruised and beaten. "...Soni-" He shushed me, looking side to side - a paranoid look across his hedgehog features. "...Don't speak, just listen." His voice is gruff and salty, like gravel. "...Tails, the crafty fox. He's gone off the deep end, and you're the only one who can stop him." Sonic looked down, his eyes sunken and defeated. "Take this." His gloved hand extends, laid within it is a an old copy of Tails Adventure for the game gear. Only, Tails now had tattoos, he was no longer the crafty fox I once knew. With that, Sonic gives me a nod before he turns to walk away - before suddenly pausing. "...I'll need some money for the bus."
