SonicAdventure.BAT
Hey, my name's Gabriel. Well, some call me Gabe. I used to be a die hard Sonic the hedgehog fan, I owned almost all the games and I enjoyed every single second of it. Boy, I loved all of them. Except Sonic 2006. I used to love the series... u-until I had a terrifying experience with it.
Lemme just tell you what happened. I warn you, it's not pretty.
The story: (July 18th, 2012, 10:57 PM.)
It was the summer of '12. I was excited this summer because Sonic adventure DX was coming out on Steam. I couldn't wait. The first chance i got, I went down to GameStop and I got myself a steam card. The line was pretty long, let me tell you. At least 95% were getting a steam giftcard. Either because of the summer sale or Sonic Adventure DX.
I immediately rushed home, and plopped my ass down onto the spinny-chair i had and i went immediately onto Steam.
I bought Sonic Adventure DX as I planned, and let it install. I also got some other fun games, like Battleblock theatre, Super Meat Boy, Dota 2 and Portal 2.
I wanted to find something to do, because it'd take about 53 minutes to download, since my computer is pretty slow. So I just watched those cool youtubers like SomeOrdinaryGamers, penguinz0, and Game grumps.
I must've spent about 49 minutes so far on the download. I went to check if it was done.
Then i noticed something out of the corner of my eye. My google chrome icon shook a bit. I itched my head in confusion, and raised my eyebrows.
"What the hell?" I murmured as i double clicked the icon.
I then noticed my Gmail account had a notification. I clicked my gmail, logged in, and had the message as usual.
The message was entitled: "Help me, Gabe."
I clicked it. I noticed it was from my best-friend Andy. Which I called 'Drew. This wasn't a joke. He needed my help.
"Gabe,
You have to help me, He's after me, I couldn't take it anymore, I had to find someone to help me. Gabe, take this file and destroy it. Recycle and delete it. I couldn't, He wouldn't allow it. Please Gabe, Take this game and destroy it. Don't play it, please, It's just what you need to do to avoid him. Destroy it quick. Don't be too slow.

A mistake.
I itched my head in confusion. There was a link to mediafire following the note. Being curious, I clicked the link and the file "Sonicadventure.zip" began downloading.
Quite the coincidince if you ask me. It didn't even ask if i wanted it. It just downloaded.
When it finished, I extracted the zip into a folder. When i opened it, all that was there were 3 files.
First was a batch file. "SonicAdventure.Bat". Next was a image. "him.jpg" and lastly, 'noitsgotme.jpg.'
Him.jpg was Sonic. But...He had no eye sockets. And his gloves were red..like, blood splattered. Like he had murdered or strangled someone.
There was also messy text, "DO NOT." Do not what? I questioned, inquiring that it had ment don't play the game.
Noitsgotme.jpg was just that sonic cd sonic...The one with the creepy face, Man, that used to haunt me, now i'm over that. Little did i know, this was 40x worse...
SonicAdventure.bat was what i wanted to look into. I double clicked it and my computer went fullscreen. A title screen appeared.
There was one option. Begin.
I selected the only option I could and a file appeared.
"Drew; 97% complete" I itched my head once more and I questioned myself. "How on earth did he rename his file?" I easily shook this fact off and selected the file. I selected Sonic, because he was the only one who could be selected. The others were...locked.
"Wait, what? How are they locked?! It's 97% complete, So why can't I play as anyone BUT Sonic!?" I barked at the game as the game began.
The screen went static and blurry for 3 seconds.
I think i heard demonic laughter and children crying while it was loading. It sounded...like the screaming was in my own house...Like it was getting closer...I didn't like the sound of this.
I was brought into a level. "SMILE, WE'RE WATCHING. Act2" That made my heart sink DEEP... "They're...watching?" I murmured.
The level was just...a dark hall... a-and it wasn't 3d like in the real game, it was 2d. This was just a dark...hallway. Nothing else. T-that was, until i progressed until atleast halfway. When i went halfway, I saw.. heads. Heads of other characters. Knuckles, Tails, and even Amy. I even think Sonic shed a tear. And they were bleeding, their entrails hanging out. I tried to hold back my tears. 'How could someone possibly do that?!" I almost threw up.
I progressed. But the more i did, the darker sonic's sprite became. And so did the hall and the floor.
I got to the point in which i couldn't see ANYTHING, The floor, ceiling, Sonic, It was just a black screen with sound.
By now i heard moaning. Not from enjoyment, but from pain and agony. It sounded real. Like it was hyper realistic. I also heard crying as I moved. I thought it was Sonic, mourning over the loss of his friends. But it didn't sound that way. It was...human screams and moans.
Then i could hear nothing but screams of agony and pain, over and over and over, the images filled my head on what it could be... Then out of the blu, i fell down a pit. At least i think so. I couldn't see anything. Then I heard a realistic Splat.
And the screen cut to red then black for about 20 seconds.
Just then, My computer started to spaz out, shake, and completely make very odd noises, the screen was looking broken, It was as if a clown had puked on my screen, or if a unicorn shit on my computer.
It was all breaking, and I didn't have the power to stop it. I held down the power button, but nothing happened.
Then it hit me. "The plug!" I unplugged both plugs. But yet again, Nothing happened. This scared me, "What the hell is so powerful of a bug, that it makes the computer work, but not at the same time?!"
I backed away from my computer as the bright lights continued to flash. I don't think this was a virus, but if it was, it was extremely horrible. The worst I had ever seen.
Then the power blew out.
I know that sounds cliche, but it happened. I must've blew a fuse. I didn't bother going down to check if i did. There was a creepy thing about that blowing of the fuse...The computer came back on..But...nothing else did. I flipped a couple of light switches and nothing happened.
Tried turning on a flashlight, Nothin'.
Tried calling my Friend to help, since he's an electrician, Had no answer.
I even called 911. And this made me throw my phone down, and stomp on it. No answer.
I yelled, "Must be living in a realm where nothing f*cking works!!"
14 minutes later
Well the computer came back on, and I knew that because I heard a error message, and there was red, bold text and nothing else on the screen.
"Drew never wanted to play, what a shame, what a shame.
...But i can play with you, right Gabe?" That made my eyes widen, my heart sink lower and lower.
"How on earth did this apparition know my identity?! What is this game, who
made it, and why!?"
I wanted to throw my computer out, but i hesitated as another act screen appeared. The music was nothing. Just, dialup sounds.
"Don't be afraid act55" "Act 55?" I said, in confusion, "Why does this have 55 acts?! That's impossible!" I slammed my hands on my computer as one of the most terrifying Sonic images of my life appeared.
It was a Sonic with Hyper-realistic eyes and mouth. It smiled smug like. "Don't look at me like that, smiling like you're some smug blue son of a bitch!" I yelled at the screen, knowing he didn't hear me.
It was there for about 20 seconds. I studied the image. It was just Sonic, with...creepy details. There wasn't much to say. There was also moaning in the backround... the pain and suffering screams.
The Second level
Then the 2nd level appeared.
It was the virus screen from before. It wasn't just there, it was animated, it was flashing fast. And I was also playing as that disturbing Sonic... The level was horrific. The worst of any 'fan game' (if you'd even count this as one.) or scary game ever. I moved forward. I could hear faint crying. Realistic crying. It got louder, and louder, until it was pounding my ear drums.
The more I went forward, the more things onscreen dissapeared. First it was the Score, Time, and Rings. Then it was the Lives, and everything else except sonic. Again, there wasn't music. Only dial up sounds.
It was just sonic. running. Running for his life you could say. Soon i heard that demonic laughter again. Surrounded by baby screaming and crying, and people saying "NO NO NO" And i even heard Drew's voice... saying... "I'm sorry, Gabe." Over and over. Okay, THAT WAS UNCALLED FOR. It wasn't cartoon like screams...It was human screams. Not ones you get off the internet..they sounded like they were actually being murdered and killed...
What was up ahead was even more morbid than before.
It was groutesque, the worst of all the images. Cream was hanging from the ceiling, and Sonic's friends were in a pile. The same sprites from before. I didn't have the power to stop the horror Sonic was experiencing.
Sonic didn't do anything. He just stood there smiling.
What was the worst about this, is that the text in the background...says "YOU'RE NEXT, GABE."
I almost threw up when I saw this part. I wanted to, to let it out. But I had to keep playing though, I just had to. I had to figure out and understand why Drew went so insane.
So i continued forward. I wish i didn't.
Sonic only got slower and slower. The screams got worse and worse. Then I reached a door. Just a door. I walked towards it, hoping it'd be the end of this horror show. But it wasn't.
It brought me to some more text.
"Friends are like the family you get to pick. Guess you didn't pick good. Drew put you in danger. And now there's no way you're ever leaving, Right, Gabe?"
I was beginning to cry. "What is this!? Why are Sonic and friends being put through this torment and horrific torture?! Who the hell made this game!? Am I..the one who caused this?"
I continued forward. Wishing I hadn't.
Graves.
The screen cut to black. For 30 seconds. Just, black. I couldn't do anything. I thought the game crashed.
But it didn't. By now my gut was upside down, I wanted to throw up so badly. But I wanted to sit in front of this and continue. I prepared myself for the road ahead.
I still had those images in my head of Sonic's buddies. I couldn't get them out.
Finally the level title card appeared. "n0 tUrnINg BaCk aC7 4" After decoding those hyrogliphics, It read 'No Turning back act 4'
This level had to be it. It had to end this. I had to finish this game and figure out why Drew was insane.
The level was a graveyard. Looks like it was done in MS paint. The tombstones were of the past characters i came across. I was now playing as that 'Him' image now.
That extremely disturbing Sonic stood at the end. He stared at me. Lifeless and unmoving. I tried to move towards him, but when I did, He ran away.
I chased after him. This was just like the first level, except I was going after something. It must have been about 3 minutes before I caught up with him. He stood before a goal ring. He jumped into it.
I wanted to see where he went, what he was hiding. But when I went to the ring, a hand from one of the graves grasped my leg and dragged me down into the grave. The screen cut to black for about 30 seconds.
Then I came back and i appeared in some sort of rocky area, with a door. There was also red text.
"PLEASE DON'T". I wanted to shut it down. And i tried. I held down the power button. Nothing worked.
I had to continue. I went into the door.
Climax
Now I don't like to bring up this part. But since i'm retelling my experience, I must.
Going into the door ended the level.
I thought that this was it. This had to be the end of this nightmare in reality. The final title card. The climatic ending. It might've scared the shit out of me, but at least I lived to tell the story.
The title card appeared.
"Run forever"
There wasn't even an act. It was just "Run Forever". The loading screen was horrific with screams and hollering. By now, I was crying full forced. I couldn't stop. It was terrifying, who was doing this to Sonic?!
I couldn't stop crying. I couldn't. I had to keep playing.
The level appeared. That freaking Sonic was still there. This time, it was there for the background.
Amy's body was there. Knuckles, Tails, and Cream was also there.
Then it hit me.
It was that Sonic. That creepy Sonic which was torturing them.
He was smiling when he saw his work of killing Sonic's friends, And His dimension was that glitchy mess.
Which is where he went when he went into the Goal Ring. Sonic realized he had to stop the Evil sonic from torturing his friends, also the first time we see this Evil Sonic, the screaming got louder, meaning that he tortures his victims there.
Anyway, All the past friends that were injured were there. And there was 2 more characters. Another Tails, with black fur, and a gross looking Amy...who was breaking the fourth wall, looking at me. There was a goal ring at the end.
There was text. "You're here. Please join us." I refused, jumping into the goal ring.
I was back at the first level. "Are you freaking kidding me?!" I yelled in anger. But I wasn't in the beginning.
I moved forward, only to realize, that Sonic was chasing me, He just was floating towards me, with no animation whatsoever.. I pushed forward as much as I could.
But it didn't work. He couldn't keep up, which was the only positive. The more I ran, I noticed Sonic was crying. I could see the expression in his face of sheer terror. The evil sonic though, He kept spurting out words. "DON'T RUN! COME BACK! PLEASE STAY! DON'T LEAVE US! I'M NOTHING WITHOUT YOU!" Sounds of slamming began to materialize, as if someone was trying to break a door down. My heart pounded faster and faster. Then the drowning theme played. Going faster and faster.
Then at the end of the hall, there was a goal ring. Without hesitation, I jumped up, but he caught me. I heard a horrific scream, followed by slicing sounds and chewing sounds.
It was awful. Text then appeared.
"YOU'RE TOO SLOW, GABE,"
Then the screen cut to static. I couldn't believe what I had just played.
A game over screen then appeared.
It was that creepy Sonic with all his victims on sticks.
Even sonic was there.
The game closed by itself.
I wanted this gone. Thinking quickly, I loaded the files onto a blank usb i had. I recycled and deleted the original file, banishing it from my pc.
I removed the usb and ran outside with a lighter, paper, and a match. I lit the match outside into my fire pit. And
threw the paper in. I lit the paper. It burned quick. When the time was right, I threw the usb into the fire, and screamed as I did what Drew asked. "BURN IN HELL, YOU DISGUSTING GAME!" I tightened my fists. And smiled as I got rid of the evil that was that game.
Then the fire hissed at me. Something was in that usb. No, not that. Something was in that game. I guess we'll never know.
I went back inside. It was late. About midnight. I wanted to go to bed now. Which I promptly did so. I was exhausted. I got my sleep, and i slept good knowing I rid that freaking game out of both Me and Drew's lives.
But that Evil Sonic...
Drew, If you're reading this, I did it. I've done has you've asked.
And to anyone who finds this game...
Don't be too slow.
