Sonic 1 Night

I googled something like Sonic Green Hill night hack, because I wanted to see if anyone made Sonic 1 hack at night. I found something on Rapidshare. I used Kega Fusion to emulate it and it worked. Title screen's left alone, but Act 1 basically had some palette changes that made the stage feel new. Didn't see any other changes to the stage though.

Speed ran through it like a boss. Although something was weird at the end. After you run through the sign post, that "You Passed Act 1" jingle didn't come up and the ring for the Special Stage didn't show up even though I had 50 rings.

Act 2 was really weird. It looked dark like Act 1, but Sonic's legs were missing. He can float left and right now. Tried pushing the rock, no legs showed up. Jumped over the rock and everything went black. You can still hear Green Hill music, so I was messing with the controls and then just reset the game out of frustration.

Act 1, nothing new and Sonic has his legs. Act 2, same thing happens. Sonic's legs go missing and the screen goes black after you jump over the rock! I held right and guess that Sonic died from the piranha from the sounds. Although, the screen's still black so I have to reset the game again.

Went on the Internet, looked up how to do Stage Select, and skipped to Act 2. Same thing happens, so I said screw it, and skipped to Act 3. Thankfully, Act 3 was working. Eggman was holding a spiky ball this time and had headlights. Thought that was neat.

Marble Zone also had a night makeover, but as soon as you go down into the dungeon-like place, everything is black. You can still see Sonic, but all of the bricks are black. I lost all of my lives just trying to get through the pillars that crush you. I used level select to skip to Marble Zone, and I just can't get past the falling pillars.

Went to the original rom, skipped to Marble zone, timed my jumps across a few times, and then back to this hack and still died! I was counting the seconds of when to jump.

Said screw it and used level select to get to Act 1 of Spring Yard Zone. You know those slow blocks that move up and down? And if you jump at the corner, you die? I think there's something in this hack's coding that makes you die every time in that place. I've been patient and just kept dying at that spot.

So I said screw it, turned off my laptop, and went to sleep. There was really, really loud banging that night. I don't know what it was, but I was too sleepy to care about it. I thought it was from outside. When I wake up, I find my legs stuck right between the mattress and the thing that holds the bed! My legs were in so much pain. I had to walk with crutches for a week.

Played the hack out of boredom, saw Green Hill Zone Act 2 with a no legs Sonic again, and deleted that hack as fast as I could. I'm convinced that game caused whatever happened to my legs.
