Stay fresh

Marie stared out over the Octo cannon. The lonely view was now all too familiar to her. The squid idol let out a heavy sigh as she smoothed out her kimono and shuffled in her shoes. "I wonder if agent 4 will return soon..." she thought "Also, I wonder where Callie ran off to-" Suddenly, her thoughts were interrupted as the manhole gurgled. Out popped a pink squid which quickly took the form of her cousin.

Marie smiled. "Where were you, Callie?" "Just shopping." Callie quickly answered. She had a look of annoyance on her face, which caused the smile to drain from Marie's face. "What's wrong? Did something happen?" Callie sighed "Nothing. Just... nothing." "Callie..." Marie said reaching out to touch her cousins shoulder. Callie slapped her hand away "Stop it!" Marie was shocked. She was acting way different from her happy, bubbly self.

"Callie, there is something wrong. Please tell me." Marie sighed. Callie didn't answer. "Like I am going to tell you" Callie thought to herself. "Callie, please." "OKAY FINE!" Callie yelled "you want to know what's actually wrong? ITS YOU!" Marie was speechless. "Wha-what do y-you mean?" Marie asked, tearing up. "Everyday its all like "Oh you are the second best" "Oh you are so annoying" "Oh Marie is soooo much better" I'm sick and tired of it, Marie! All because of that stupid splatfest!!" Marie stared at her fuming cousin. "I-I'm sorry you feel that way, Callie. But the result of that doesn't mean you are less than equal. Equal to me, that is." She looked at Marie, tears in her eyes.

Marie leaned in and gave her cousin a hug. Callie hugged back, and they stood in silence. Until Marie felt something sharp. She let go of Callie and looked down. A large gash mark was cut into her chest. Green blood oozed out "C-Callie?" Marie said, tears in her eyes. Callie just stared. The knife in her hand dripping with blood "CALLIE?" Marie yelled. Callie kicked her cousin to the ground, her blood oozing everywhere. Callie kicked Marie's head repeatedly, bashing it each time, ignoring the screams. Finally, Marie stopped moving. Callie had killed her cousin. The last thing Marie heard before her world went black was the words:

"Staaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay fresh!"
