Tails' Vengeance
I was and still am a Huge Sonic fan with posters around my room of him. I just don't have the feel for the franchise any longer mainly because of this story I'm going to now write.
It was a normal day with just me in my house my friend just loaned to me. I wanted to immediately go to the Goodwill games store (I honestly forgot what it was called). I then biked over there, only to find one copy of Sonic 2. I thought nothing of it and decided to grab it. I remember the cashier saying, "I'm not quite sure if you should buy that." I still bought it though and biked back to my house. I had inserted the disk into my console and booted it up. I noticed something was off though. The original "Sega" chime sounded grainy and corrupted. The screen had froze for a good three minutes before I took it out and put it back in. It sounded normal until the screen suddenly flashed to black at the middle segment. The anti-piracy screen suddenly popped up on my screen. Instead of it saying "This might seem like an illegal copy of Sonic the Hedgehog 2" it ended up saying, "This might seem like an illegal copy of 999001." I remember saying "What the hell" before it had shut off again. I took out the disk and inserted it again, hoping that it would play. Right before the Sega chime popped in, I just skipped. Something else seemed wrong though. So in the original Sonic 2, Sonic AND Tails are supposed to be there in the beginning. Instead, only Tails was there, despite it saying "Sonic 2." I thought maybe this might be a hacked CD Rom, but I thought otherwise after that. I pressed start but all it showed was a sprite of Tails running on a black empty screen. Tails had suddenly said, "It's dark in here, turn on the lights!" The lights had suddenly went out after him saying that. I had thought nothing of it and turned on the light again.
The first level, Green hill Zone suddenly popped up on my screen. I was playing as Tails. I had progressed through the game as normal when it suddenly turned red. All I could hear was empty buzzing. I had sat there for a minute when it flashed back on. I immediately teleported to the boss level where Dr.Eggman had his drill. I had finally beat him, but instead of him going of screen, he instead when out of his vehicle thing. He had a dialogue saying "Don't do it Tails. Just dont." Tails then walked up to Eggman having his Sprite slowly have a smile on his face. The TV turned to static for a second. When it flashed back I had seen Tail's feet and legs covered In blood as he was stomping on Eggman's head as it turned to blood and mush. I was horrified at what I saw. Tails then walked toward Eggman's body only to jump and step on it as nothing but blood and organs poured out. I had immediately took out the disk and tried to smash it with my hammer. The disk wouldn't seem to break though.
