The Anthropophagist

This is a story I planned back in 2020, but never wrote. It’s too much of a gem to not show the plans though, so here you go. Reminder that this was a genuine attempt.

  • Heather is at a summer camp
  • Some of the food goes missing
  • Heather goes to find the person with a team of friends
  • Suddenly gunshots are heard and Heather is the only one in her team alive
  • Heather hides behind a tree
  • She calls the police before her phone runs out of battery.
  • She finds a hiding place and waits for the police to arrive, since she still called them before her phone ran out of battery
  • When the police arrive, they help everyone at the camp go home
  • The police also say that the people who attacked were part of a group way larger than the one Heather encountered
  • Heather then has to live with the deaths of several close friends on her mind.
  • Eventually, one school morning, Heather couldn’t take it anymore. She runs away from school into the woods, crying.
  • She gets attacked by the people who attacked her before and just barely gets away.
  • Eventually, she sees something out of the corner of her eye.
  • The thing she saw was her group of friends
  • She was imagining things. (Just a quick authors note)
  • She imagined that her friends were blaming her for their deaths, because she choose to have them on her team
  • Eventually, Heather’s mom takes Heather to a therapist.
  • The therapist told Heather’s mom that Heather probably just needs to move on, and tell herself that it wasn’t her fault
  • Heather tries to follow the therapist’s directions, but she just couldn’t move on.
  • Heather goes to the woods (The place she thinks her friends are haunting) so she can apologize to her friends.
  • Heather gets attacked again.
  • Heather gets shot, and wakes up in a grave.
  • She was in the grave because the doctors thought she was in a coma she couldn’t wake up from, and buried her.
  • A graveyard worker notices her knocking on her coffin.
  • The graveyard worker helped Heather.
  • When Heather gets home she finds that she’s angry with her parents. After all she had gone through her parents didn’t even object to her being buried early.
  • That night when Heather is going to the bathroom, she notices a kitchen knife on the counter and goes to put it away, but she loves the way it feels in her hands.
  • Heather notices that she feels thirsty, and she wants to get a drink. She puts down the knife. But she didn’t feel like drinking something tasteless like water, but she didn’t want something with too much flavor, so she scanned the room and the fridge.
  • She noticed some blood dripping from the place she was hit with a bullet and she tried to lick it off.
  • She loved the way it tasted. But not just the blood, the flesh, aswell.
  • She picks up the kitchen knife again and drags it against the wall while walking slowly to her parents bedroom.
  • She walks into the room, hiding the knife and saying she’s scared.
  • When her parents go over to her, she stabs both of them.
  • She skins both of them, drinking all their blood.
  • She eats the rest of them, the flesh, the organs, all that stuff.
  • When she hears sirens in the distance, she finishes her meal and runs into the woods, making sure that she had either eaten, or taken with her, anything she had touched.
  • She didn’t care about leaving footprints. She hopped that the police would just say that she was missing.
  • She then wandered around, murdering people, and eating their remains. Leaving only skin, and bones.
