The Game Once Played

I was digging around in the attic of the new house I recently bought. I was on vacation from my job at the post office, my wife, Lilly, was at her job, an office, and my two kids were at school. when organizing, I found an old Pac-Man cartridge, laying by the window. upon picking it up, I found the NES sitting there as well. I was bored, so I thought I'd see if it still worked.

I shoved it in, after getting the dust out. the game turned on quickly. the contrast had a dark red tint to it, but you could still see the picture. The game went to the menu, but the menu was flashing from blue to red contrast. there was a player selection, which the choices were REGPLAY and UPADE. i went to UPADE, wondering what it meant. The screen switched to the Pac-Man screen. It seemed different, because the walls were white and were in different places than they normally were in the game, looking like rooms. and the ghosts were replaced by a white stickguy sitting on a light brown couch. I went charging for the couch, but rammed into a wall on the way there. I heard a crash in the house. I just thought it was the game.

When i finally got to the room with the stickguy, I smelled a hideous stench, which smelled like a fresh corpse. I looked to the side of the couch, and there was a surprising visitor. a giant, ugly legless yellow frog like creature that had a humugous mouth dripping a green slimy liquid. I scrambled out of the room, and it followed. It seemed to hover. I opened up the back door and made a quick turn. The creature flew right out the door and hit the back fence. As it tried to get back in, I quickly closed the door on it and it went down the side yard, thinking there'd be another way in. There was. The basement doors were open. It fell down into the basement, only to find that the door closed on it.

Three days later, I came to check on the pacmutation. all that was left was a pixelated skeleton. but somehow, I knew that the pacmutation wasn't dead. I could feel it.
