The House Made from Webs
It's been a long time since I visited my childhood house. And when I did, my parents would keep it the same for me. But all things come to an end, including life. When my parents passed away, there wasn't a reason to come now, and in my parents will, they gave the house to me, the house was a 2 story, with an attic. The house was in the countryside and the only house there.
But yesterday was different. I decided to visit the house, and it wasn't what I expected. Several layers of webs cover the house, and several spiders skittering around. Even laying eggs. "What happened?" I mutter to myself in horror and disgust. It was only a couple of months before I stopped visiting. Hours later, two of my friends, Tyler a biologist, and Hunter who brought his machete, just perfect to cut the strings of webs.
As we cut through the web into the house. "What the hell happened? Ryan did you-" I turn to him. "No, this isn't a prank. I'm not that rich for this." As we went deeper. We heard scurrying in the attic, something large, we thought it was a hooligan who did this, but it sounded like multiple people were up there. We slowly made our way up to the second story, we noticed the spiders trying to go to us, their fangs ready, Tyler recognized this behavior. "Careful, they're acting aggressive."
As we opened the attic door, there was something in the shadows in front of us. It suddenly lunged at Tyler. It was a large spider, the scurrying we heard, and the multiple legs were its legs. The large spider, using its fangs mauled, and bit at Tyler's face, killing him. Hunter trying to do something tries slashing at the large spider, but when he hits it, nothing happens, no blood. Regardless, Hunter was already too late.
The large spider scurried away, showing the face of Tyler. "No. No! No! Tyler!" I hold Tyler by my hands, my closest friend, sapped, and mauled right in front of me. Tears ran down my cheek. But, Hunter turned to the real threat, another smaller spider, still pretty big lunged at him, luckily he stabbed it mid-air. Hunter grabbed me by my arm and led me out of the house.
Hunter had brought a lighter, and a gas can, just in case. I tried pleading to at least retrieve the body of Tyler, but I knew it was for the best. "Ryan, we can't let this 'thing' escape. We have to do, what we can for the better good." Hunter was right. I stood up and grabbed the gas can. Pouring the gas around the house, I caught a glimpse of the large spider, it was trying to get out, but before it could, Hunter threw the lighter. Burning the house.
I don't know what I witnessed yesterday and since then I have grown arachnophobia. And for my safety, I'm keeping this between me, and Hunter. If you find a spider that shouldn't be that big; burn it.
