The Letterland Story is the first animated story of Letterland released by Astrion Plc. and Letterland International in 1997. We had a great time watching this, and Letterland is one of my favorite shows. But what if I tell you that there was a planned sequel that... never released? Let me explain...

Theory

3 days after the 1997 UK VHS release of The Letterland Story, Astrion was planning for a sequel called "The Letterland Story 2". They reused the intro from The Letterland Story, but decided to change the story, with no events, parties or other fun. Just a strange letter adventure. On December 30th, 1997, Astrion published a lost magazine featuring development images of The Letterland Story 2. There is also a release schedule, originally going to release on May 18th, 1998, but was delayed because of the animation not being very accurate, so they decided to improve it. On February 4th, 1998, Letterland International released a VHS tape featuring Letterland System development footage, featuring The Letterland Story 2 and its footage. On May 7th, 1998, Letterland International released another magazine featuring more images of The Letterland Story 2. It also had a release schedule, sceduled for release on June 12th, 1998, but unfortunately, something went wrong...

Astrion thinks that the animation still isn't that good, so they delayed it to January 24th, 1999 and fix more problems. Even though all problems are fixed, the release date kept on delaying indefinitely. Astrion kept working on the story until November 5th, 2000, which they put it on hiatus until December 21st. On 2001, even though Astrion was defunct, Letterland International can still work on the story and add more features. On May 5th, 2001, a Letterland International employee committed suicide by shooting himself with a Berreta 92FS in the crotch. There were a heap of blood coming out of his crotch. The employees decided to hide the body, but they couldn't find a good place. 2 days later, 5 Letterland employees were arrested by the FBI because they were next to the dead body. They were executed via electric chairs. On June 16th, 2001, Letterland International tried fixing more errors, making them delay the story even more until April 24th, 2002. On June 28th, 2002, Letterland International published another magazine featuring even more images of The Letterland Story 2. It is scheduled is release on October 9th, 2003, but it was delayed to August 3rd, 2004 due to the Letterland International employees getting worse at making voice acting fot the story. Development stopped on March 16th, 2005 until its cancellation in 2006 due to most of the perfect animators commiting suicide.

It is very difficult to find any information about The Letterland Story 2 on the internet, as many information were mysteriously lost, besides some magazines, screenshots, early previews (which were from 1998 to 1999) and development footage. 5 days after the cancellation of The Letterland Story 2, a Letterland fan contacted an employee to talk about the remains of The Letterland Story 2 and possible release for the remaining footage. The employee later gave a note saying:

Dear Letterland fan,

We had started developing the story in 1997 but we kept on delaying the story due to the inaccuracies we need to fix. Almost everything was bad, especially the voice acting, animation and designs. Many people find it strange in the first two magazines due to its ugly looks of the characters. During the early 2000s, we had to change many of the characters in order to improve the story.

The reason why we cancelled this is because many of the perfect animators commited suicide by jumping off a boat. We have decided to throw many of the development tapes, storyboards and cels into a cremation fire and destroy them. However we still have a little bit of early footage, screenshots and documents in our storage, which we've decided to keep from 2008. But due to copyright laws, I am not allowed to release the footage. I hope this note makes you understand.

From,

Brock Brendan Pantina

Discovery

An recreation of the image of the preview tape.

On January 17th, 2021, an early preview VHS tape of The Letterland Story was auctioned on eBay, dated October 27th, 1999, label also says "DO NOT PLAY. IT IS CURSED", but I didn't care. I won the auction, got my VHS player and put in the tape. I was excited to watch it. When the Astrion logo ended, a short static played. The story starts off with the intro. When the intro finishes playing, I noticed something strange...

The book was full of blood. Whenever the book starts turning, there was no text on it until it turned faster and faster to the middle page. The book stops at the middle page, which says "H WQ HT ROEE" meaning "I AM IN HELL". 5 seconds later, A image of the dead body of the same employee I mentioned about in my theory appeared. I was freaked out so much I wanted to eject the tape. When the image suddenly disappeared, I attempted to eject the tape, but the button doesn't budge, so I continued watching. A package falls from the sky and lands on the entrance to Clever Cat's house. Clever Cat opens the door and notices the package. She grabs it and unboxes it, revealing a picture of Annie Apple saying "Oh dear!". Clever Cat looks at the back of the image, revealing a bottle of venom, curious, Clever Cat picks up the bottle and drops it accidentally, causing the bottle to shatter and spew the venom out of it, Clever Cat then gets down and tastes the venom, to only pass away and drop into the floor.

Meanwhile, Ticking Tess was trying to fix telephone buttons until she notices screaming from Clever Cat's house. The telephones rang and started glitching, causing Ticking Tess to die from blood loss. There were blood coming out of her ears. Robber Red and Wicked Water Witch suddenly get disappear because of the glitch. When the world stopped glitching, another package falls from the sky and lands on Zig-Zag Zebra. Zig-Zag Zebra notices the package, unboxes it, revealing a piece of paper also saying "H WQ HT ROEE". Zig-Zag Zebra said, "What the?" as she chokes on his blood to death. Another package lands on the Quarrelsome Queen's castle. Quarrelsome Queen notices the package and said "What on earth is that? A package? Well this shouldn't be bad.". She opens the package, revealing a C4 that is about to explode. "Oh come on, I am the Queen of Letterland. There is no way that could stop me-" said Quarrelsome Queen. The castle explodes, killing the rest of the Letterlanders. The sky became red, and dead bodies were seen for 3 minutes. There were alot of blood and gore exposed to the Letterlanders, especially Annie Apple and Oscar Orange.

Then some strange static played and showed test animation of Clever Cat walking like a realistic cat. Unfortunately, it is cursed, making the animation scarier and scarier. After 5 minutes of the footage, a face with sharp and crooked teeth and bloodshot eyes stared at me for 3 minutes until another face appears. I continued watching the tape to see how scarier it gets. Suddenly, a mouth appeared, he spoke in a demonic voice saying "You got warned..." the mouth eats the screen in one gulping bite. The camera gets down the gullet and into the stomach. The camera gets digested and static plays. A scarier version of the credits from The Letterland Story plays. Then, an extremely scary jumpscare of that same face from before. It was cut to a crude VHS recording of The Sad Story of Henry (the third episode of Thomas and Friends), but the footage gets worse for each time the clip switches. After the credits, the static played again, this time with a simple drawing of an extremely nightmarish face in black. Suddenly, the same mouth appeared again, saying the same line from before. Then, the same nightmarish face in red appeared on screen and stared at me for 5 seconds until it jumpscared me very loud that it almost made me deaf. Finally, the tape ended with a message on a black background saying:

"YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE PLAYED THIS TAPE.

I TOLD YOU NOT TO PLAY THIS TAPE BUT YOU DID.

YOU WERE WARNED.

YOU ARE RUINING PEOPLE'S CHILDHOODS WITH NIGHTMARISH STUFF SUCH AS THE TAPE THAT YOU'RE PLAYING.

YOU WILL GET SUPER DUPER NIGHTMARISH NIGHTMARES.

I ALSO WANT TO TELL YOU THAT YOU ARE PERMANENTLY BANNED FROM THE LETTERLAND WEBSITE.

SEE YOU ON THE NEXT CURSED TAPES."

Aftermath of my viewing

I had nightmares for 2 whole weeks. I later reported this to Letterland International and they heard about it. They apologized for the extreme scariness, copyright infringement and adultish humor.

NOTE: This tape isn't real. See you soon.
