The Tale of Track 11

Notch has been releasing a new version of Minecraft every few weeks or so now, in the latest pre-release, he added new music discs, everyone was excited as previously there were only two. But there exists an 11th disc, an old, broken, cracked disc. Inserting it into your music player will do nothing, and the disc will pop out. This is no longer the case.

One day I was mining in a deep, sprawling cave system, something seemed wrong, I couldn't put my finger on it, so I shrugged it off and kept going. I found a stronghold, which is like a giant, underground dungeon, only one is generated per world, so naturally I was stoked. I explored, it was amazing for something randomly generated, I couldn't build something more breathtaking if I had done it myself. I found a room, like a gentleman's study, chests filled with riches, not in the form of diamonds and gold, but in the form of books, and journals, and knowledge. There was a cracked stone block above the fireplace, I reached for my gold pick, not wanting to waste my diamond one, and chipped at it, inside the wall was a single chest. Something in my head whispered to me, it said "No, go away, leave it alone, for your sake, for everyones' sake." But I ignored the voice in my head. It spoke up "No! Go away! Leave it alone!" I refused to heed its warning and lifted the lid of the chest, it screamed. "Go away! Please leave it alone!" The voice sounded as if it were sobbing uncontrollably. I opened up the lid all the way, inside was a single, shiny black disc. The voice stopped. I examined the seemingly harmless disc, it looked as if it had never once been used. I opened up my pack and slid it inside, then continued on my way. Later that night, I had left the stronghold, and was setting up shop closer to the surface, I had a diamond, and just enough wood, so I crafted a music player. I put the disc inside the player, it popped back out, nothing had happened. I had an unbearable, aching feeling in my gut, I was starving, I left the saftey of my cave to find food. Something was wrong about tonight, the sad faces of the creepers seemed even sadder tonight, the skeletons and zombies had a look of fear and pain on their faces. I offed a couple cows and headed back home. I threw some coals into the fire and set my steak above it, mouth beginning to water. I set fire to a pile of netherrack for lighting, then left the cave to waste some time until my food was done. The night was cold, and dark, I turned and looked to a grassy field, I saw a tall, dark figure off in the distance, a strange aura about it. I then made the greatest mistake of my life, I looked directly at it. It turned, it looked at me, I looked at it. It looked deep into me, I felt its gaze like an ice cold cage surrounding my soul. It had deep, glowing violet eyes, the rest of it was pitch black, not like the night, like a hole, a void in reality itself. I couldn't bear to look at it any longer, I ran, I ran as fast as I could, back home, breathing heavily, strange, hellish noises in the background, the fire was out. I reached into my pocket and produced a flint and steel, I struck them together furiously to light it once more, I coughed heavily and stopped for a moment, I had taken some books from the stronghold, they could help! I ran to the shelf and grabbed the first book, I flipped through it, it was all notes about enchantments and alchemy, the book said he even dabbled in necromancy. As I got near the end of the book, the writing became less legible, more like what a madman would write, on the last page, it was written.

"If you found this, chances are you found the disc, Track 11, if this is the case, I am sorry, I am so sorry, there's nothing you can do. They are already on their way, they shall take your body, and bring Him back. He shall rise again. He is coming."

I heard a bone chilling sound, I followed my most basic instict, I ran, I grabbed the record and ran, as fast as I could, panting heavily, in my head I kept hearing the voice.

"I am so sorry."

I kept running,

"There's nothing you can do."

I saw the torchlight, I had made it, I kept going, not daring to look back.

"He is coming"

I was out now, I kept running, as fast as I could, it caught up to me, I fell, I dropped the disc, I heard one last sound...

"Herobr-"
