The Tick

The Tick is a sick child with a blood disease, fantasizing about being a superhero while he's in bed. The Tick is unstoppable and can go and do whatever he wants, however his mind is child-like.

Arthur is his father, whom he loves, but is ineffectual. American Maid is his mother, who has divorced his father and gone off to be, essentially, a slut. He still looks up to her, hence her ideas of justice, but she's hypersexualized and yet The Tick has no sexual interest in her (or anyone else).

The enemies are toys and things he can see from his bedroom window.

He calls himself The Tick because that was the insect that transmitted the blood disease to him. He sees them as powerful creatures to be revered.
