The Zelda Theory

Link was a lonely child. He hardly had any friends and he constantly got himself into trouble, be it with his father or with the neighbors. He always did incredibly dangerous things. One day link took a nasty fall and slipped into a coma. In this coma he created multiple delusions based off of his life. He imagined himself as a brave hero saving a princess. He collected treasures and weapons on the way and defeated monsters. He collected all the pieces of the triforce and restored order to the kingdom. It's something all kids his age would love to do. But after his adventure was over.

His mind almost asked. What now? After two years his mind had created a whole new scenario. He had to wake up a sleeping princess, and stop Ganon the final enemy in his last adventure, from being brought back. The princess symbolizes links subconscious knowledge that he is in a coma. His mind tried to tell him this but he was unable to understand. As bringing Ganon back to life. This is links other half telling him not to wake up. And link eventually fights his other self unfortunately that link wanted to wake up. Shadow link was his subconscious mind telling him to WAKE UP! Yet he blocked it out.

After this adventure link decides to live his first adventure once again. Because he remembers fondly on his first Adventure. He recreates it yet he adds more to his adventure. He adds a story to his fictional world he calls Hyrule. He created a history and a story around the princess Named Zelda. His child-like fantasy felt less like a child playing and more like a real adventure to him. After his adventure was over though, He still wanted more. Link created another adventure for himself, but this time he gave himself actual relationships with people, Saria was based off of his old real friend ever.

She was a girl who always defended link from the other kids. But more than that he had a companion following him everywhere, Navi. She symbolized how link was such an awkward child growing up. But in this adventure link did something he always wanted to do. He grew up. Link was in the body of an Adult for the first time. He preferred this form over his child form but in some cases he feels he missed out on his childhood.

After his greatest adventure yet, link decides to do something completely different. He felt like he was in a rut and he wanted something new. He told a character from his last adventure named skull kid and made him symbolize his own fears or losing friends and being alone. Skull kid was a symbol of links cries for attention as he lived. In fact before he was sent into his coma, Saria told him they weren't friends over something Link did to her father as a joke. Link also was sick of his human form; He became a Deku, a Aora and a Goron in his adventure.

The Deku form symbolizes links timid self that was shy and anti-social. So link playing the song of healing shows how he moved on even in his coma from his feelings. The Goron form symbolized links father and the Zora form symbolizes links older brother who buried himself in his guitar and never paid attention to link. Links brother ben drowned during one of his Performances, It was for a wedding.

Ben and his band played right above a pool. During the end of the performance something fell and it knocked ben unconscious and he fell in the pool only to drown. And Ben's girlfriend was pregnant, so link creates a quest where he has to retrieve her Zora eggs and that will make her talk again. The fierce deity mask is a symbol for what link always wanted to be, even in his imaginary world link realized if he was the fierce deity from the start there would be no challenge.

At this point the link in the real world was 19. He wasn't aware of it in his coma but subconsciously he knew he was getting old. In an attempt to gain back his childhood he went on an Adventure as a complete child, not like his previous two adventures where is played as both a child and an adult. This time he wanted to just be a young child and this adventure would be easy for him to do similar to how his first adventure was.

The polar opposite of his last adventure. After link felt he had grown up enough he wanted to have a dark, more adult adventure. But link didn't want just another adventure; he wanted something else to go with it. He became a wolf in this advenuture. It was similar to a game he played a lot called Okami. Link in this story is a farm boy, which was pretty realistic to real life. He even wore the same clothes he wore. The difference is this link was a little older than link as he was then. He made another version of his friend Saria, only he wanted to be in a romantic relationship with her.

Link was starving for love, he was at least 21 and he'd never been in love. This would be links last quest. But it wasn't to save anyone except Zelda, literally the girl of his dreams. All he wanted was a kiss from her and that would have been enough to wake himself up out of his coma. He even thought to himself that this would be his last adventure. Zelda was put into a coma for 1000s of years. His mind was literally screaming, "WAKE UP." And this time link almost knew. During the end of his "Final" adventure he opens his eyes for a spit second. He saw his mother crying by his side, his father was asleep as well and link closes his eyes. Link doesn't see any of his creation anymore, All he sees now is blackness.
