Viewer beware, you're in for a scare. *le spooky clip* Welcome to Watchmojo.com, where we're making a list on our Top 10 Horror Anime's. Today, we'll look at the spookiest and scariest of animes to signify our Halloween Spirit. Just to lay down some fucking rules here:

These animes need to be consistantly horror-based. If it's just a few episodes or less than 80% of the series, then it doesn't count.

#10: Gravity Falls

Now, any of you modern anime fans will get this one. Gravity Falls is a spin-off of the anime Twin Peaks, but done better. The show stars 2 dumb ass tweenagers known as Maple and Dimper. They have to stay with their sugar daddy, Stanfeld Penis. However, spooky stuff happens to these two shitheads, and hilarity ensues. This has a lot of horror elements, but like it's sister show Doc and Mharti, deconstructs all the horror anime tropes into black comedy. Doesn't mean that it's not scary, because it is. Weak viewers may shit themselves as everything they hold dear is twisted into something nightmarish or unsettlingly weird.

#9: The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack

Flapjack, like Gravity Falls earlier, is a strange show. It has a dingy, muddy brown color scheme and intentionally disturbing character design. The show is about Flapjack and his adoptive father & Knuckles (seriously, his name is & Knuckles. The people who made this were clearly drunk). Like many animes from the 1990's and onwards, it is a snuff show. There will be hyper-realistic jumpscares once an episode. That's not even getting into the antagonist, the Skin Taker. He is one sick son of a bitch.

#8: Salad Fingers

Salad Fingers is a psychologically manipulative show. The main character, Salad Fingers, talks to himself a lot. And by that we mean a LOT. Sometimes he'll address the audience, sometimes he'll believe that inanimate objects can understand him, and he loves when blood comes out of his vagina. Most of the episodes have him walking around a desolate wasteland, reminiscing about the days before the Great War broke out, and his Armenian family was slaughtered whilst fingering himself with his vegetable hands.

#7: Happy Appy

Ah, Nickelodeon. Anime wouldn't be the same without the innovative dickheads at Viacock Industries. As Nick is an expert at creating disturbing animes, don't act surprised we put at least one on the list. C'mon, you knew this was gonna happen. Happy Appy is a show about a talking apple with a stick up his ass who heals children, but horribly fails in that regard. Even though he is a master medic, he doesn't really have Darth Plagueis levels of heal magic. He openly admits that death is a natural cycle, and he didn't really help out when ISIS crashed into the Twin Towers. Then again, it's not like interfering with George Bush's master plan would give him cash and all the fruity prostitutes that Nick could give him. He got a PhD at Apple University, what is essentially Stanford for plants. He can get away with rape and terrorism because he can help the victims afterwards. Not to mention it got 2 spinoffs in the form of Coconut Fred and Annoying Orange. Not even Avatar got that amount of love.

#6: Courage The Cowardly Dog

Courage the Cowardly Dog is a cult classic anime. The formula is the basic Monster of the Week gimmick seen in many animes prior. Courage and the old people that take care of him live in the middle of Nowhere, far away from the rest of the world as North Korea is. But as the announcer in the intro states, "creepy stuff happens in Nowhere", and that couldn't be any more accurate. Courage has to save the people he loves from many different kaiju, like space chickens, undead pharaohs, and muscly dog pimps. The show also specializes in heartwarming tales with little nightmare fuel, but good luck trying to find those in the hours of time you'll spend shitting your pants in fear.

#5: The Nightmare before Christmas

Now, before you think this entry is gonna be nothing but holiday cheer, then consider yourself on our naughty list. The Nightmare before Christmas features a unique story in which the leader of Hell, Sans the skeleton, finds out about Christmas and wants to taint it even further than what capitalism did to it many years ago. It eventually turns into a film where the demons of Hell World anally ravish Santa Claus's asshole, before (SPOILERS) he becomes the new ruler, Satan Claws, and throws Sans in a whore house. Legendary horror enthusiast Bim Turton did 1% of the film, while his motley crew of Neo-Nazis worked on the remainder of the film.

#4: Don't Hug Me, I'm Scared

With a title like that, you know this will make you shit your pants. Don't Hug Me I'm Scared is the result of Britain making their own insane mockery of the critically acclaimed anime Sesame Street. It stars 3 unnamed puppets trying to learn about life through singing inanimate objects. Only it ends with them going insane, dying, gaining PTSD, having sex, or all of the above. As an indie anime, it uses a lot of art shifts, and an ambiguous ending, which animes rarely experience.

#3: Invader Zim

Great, another anime created by the bastards at Nickelodeon. Invader Zim is a program harnessing one primal fear, illegal aliens. We see Zim, a soldier from Al-Qaeda crossing the border into the US, where he plans to exterminate the human race. While the show borders on black comedy, there are some genuinely disturbing moments in there. Torture porn appears throughout, as many of the townsfolk get epileptic seizures, have their eyes torn out, get their internal organs stolen, turn into sapient bologna meat, etc. The fact that Nickelodeon is reviving the series made us look into this anime again, and let me tell you, it will not disappoint.

#2: The Gregory Whore Show

Everyone loves strip clubs right? Well, this club is one you do not want to go to. The gist is that some poor fuck goes to Gregory's Whore House to fuck bitches and get money, but the perverts that own and visit the establishment have a few screws loose. Gregory, the owner of the night club, gets erections whenever someone gets tortured (although, sometimes he is the ass of everyone's joke). The many quirky nutcases like a nurse enjoying crippling her victims and a cat who got his ass stitched up for attempting too many cases of sodomy. Every single character is offputting, but charming, which is extremely hard to do in animes like this. There aren't many jumpscares or snuff moments, as Gregory and his fuck-buddies like toying with your psychological state more than giving you heart attacks. There ain't many animes like it and it will make you question your ethics and sanity more than dealing with the fact that you VOTED FOR TRUMP, YOU DUMB BASTARD!!!

#1: Trollpasta Wiki

Trollpasta is the scariest anime ever. With its spine-chilling tales of gore and stupidity, the eldritch abomination Big Brother-esque creatures known as the "mods" will make you stay in line by deleting Trollpastas they don't find funny. If it's too stupid or to subtle, you get the axe. And that's the most scariest thought of all. And to anyone reading this, YOU'RE NEXT.

...

AND THEN A SKELETON POPPED OUT!
