Prologue: The Haunted Extended Edition

June 24, 2003: Summer break

My name is Timothy and I was just finished with my freshman year at Barry Goldwater High School. While my 8 year old sister, Rachel was done with second grade. We were watching Ed Edd n' Eddy on Cartoon Network. The program went to the commercial break, somewhere after the GEICO commercial called warm blooded employees, a commercial came on saying,, "Excited about Walt Disney's Sleeping Beauty: Special Edition releasing on September 9, 2003? Well, Walt Disney's Sleeping Beauty is re-releasing as an extended edition in theatres for seven weeks, its got new scenes and an alternate ending. Screenings available at AMC and Harkins.

Since I realized that Rachel adored Disney Princesses, I asked my dad if he can drop Rachel and I off to AMC Deer Valley 30 (AMC Deer Valley 17) for us to see Sleeping Beauty. He said, "Yes."

The next morning our mom went to work, and dad took us to McDonald's for breakfast, then we arrived at the theatre. Our dad said to the box office manager, "One adult and one child for Sleeping Beauty at 11:15am."

Then he said to us, "If you two get bored you can see another movie." I said, "Oh okay." The ticket stub says that Sleeping Beauty is in theatre #24 (theatre #11). Meanwhile there was an usher who looked traumatized and shocked with fear and asked us, "Are you two seeing the Extended Edition of Sleeping Beauty?"

I said, "Yes, we are." Then he said to us, "What you are about to see will haunt you for life."

We went in not believing him, then we realized that the theatre was empty which was strange for a screening of a good Disney film. The AMC bumper with the film strip man with a crystal ball kicked on along with the previews such as, Brother Bear, Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas, Elf, School of Rock, Big Fish, and Freaky Friday., then the Walt Disney Pictures logo came on but it was silent, the opening credits came on but the song, "Once Upon a Dream" was muffled and I could not hear a thing then it cuts to the film but the shot just stays on the castle, then it cuts to the scene where Maleficent announces that on Aurora's 16th Birthday, she shall prick her finger on the spindle on the spinning wheel and die.

King Stefan orders his guards to kill her and I was like, "That's not what he said in the original version." Then it cuts to Aurora singing, "I Wonder" in the forest, wow they really missed some scenes but the forest was dark and deserted, there were no signs of animals like rabbits, squirrels, or birds, but again, it was silent. It then shows an image of a desert with a skeleton laying on the ground and I was confused so was Rachel. Then it cuts back to the film, and we see Aurora crying on her bed but it did not sound like cartoon crying it sounded like as if Mary Costa, the voice of Aurora was actually crying. Then it cuts to Aurora back at the castle still sad, suddenly a breeze through the forest was heard and it sounded like the forest that's near Flagstaff or Williams, Arizona. Then it cuts to a black and white picture of a playground in Anthem, Arizona which had a creepy girl who looks similar to Aurora staring into the camera. Then it cuts to Aurora with pink wet eyes from crying, and she said, "What's the point of living?", but the scary thing is she did not sound like Mary Costa at all. In fact she sounded more like Catherine O' Hara, she continued on, " I am betrothed to marry Prince Phillip but there was this man in the forest who loved me." A single tear dripped down from her face and she said, " I need to end it all." The she walked towards the spinning wheel a voice says, "Do it." As Aurora touched the spinning wheel, she died instantly. Then, Flora, Fauna, and Meriwether come in then Maleficent says to them, "You poor, selfish fools thinking you could defeat me? Well, you're WRONG!Y ou lost! To me, the mistress of all evil! Well, here's your precious Princess." The three fairies looked in horror at Aurora's corpse as it lies on the floor as a bit of blood oozes out of her finger. Maleficent says, "As for you three, you shall die. too"

But she did not sound like Eleanor Audley, she sounded like Anjelica Huston. Maleficent than zaps Flora, Fauna, and Meriwether causing them to turn into fairy dust. Then Maleficent goes to the woods and walks up to Prince Phillip and says, "Looking for the girl you met?" And he said, "Yes." Then she asks if he was a god and he says "Then go be with him!" and she kills him with her staff. Then it cut to a time card saying, "One Month Later" . The strange thing is it was spoken by the French Narrator from SpongeBob SquarePants. It made no sense, as Disney and Nickelodeon don't go together. A funeral was being held for Aurora, Phillip, Flora, Fauna, and Meriwether. The film ends with the credits written in blood and a slow and sad version of "Hail to the Princess Aurora". My sister Rachel was crying and I was calming her down and telling her that it was all fake. We told customer service about the movie, and what did they do? They ejected the film reel for the Walt Disney's Sleeping Beauty: Extended Edition, took it outside behind the movie theatre, and destroyed the film reel with a hammer. After that, they apologized to us for any inconveniance. Then I decided for us to see a different movie called Hulk (2003) in theatre #16 (theatre #3) we began to feel better when we began to see the movie. If you find an advertisement for Sleeping Beauty: Extended Edition, I'd recommend you buy the DVD release.

Chapter 1: The Curse Begins

18 years later, in a little town called Springfield, Homer, Marge, Lisa, Maggie, and Bart (from The Simpsons) found out on the newspaper that Sleeping Beauty: Extended Edition is premiering at the Aztec Theater. They are excited that a classic Disney film is being shown in theaters in an expanded version. When they got there, all of Springfield's citizens are bustling with excitement. The Simpson family then enter the theatre where the movie is being shown that day. Once everyone is seated, trailers for other Disney movies like Jungle Cruise are shown, then the actual movie. The Walt Disney Pictures logo is the current one used since 2006, and the opening credits came on after that. Only difference is that the song "Once Upon a Dream" isn't muffled at all.

The film remains the same as what happened on June 24, 2003, and once it ends, everyone comes out of the theatre, disgusted that Maleficent won at the end. Even Comic Book Guy says "Worst. Sleeping Beauty movie. Ever.". But that is only the beginning of Maleficent's curse upon the Simpsons...

When the Simpsons reached home, they notice a lever by the TV. Marge then pulls the lever, and the part of the living room with the couch, table, and lamp spins 90 degrees, ala the Anywhere Area from Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. It reveals an iPad. "What could an iPad have to do with this?" asked Lisa. She decided to take a look. After turning on the iPad, she taps on the app icon for Disney Magic Kingdoms. The Gameloft and Disney logo remain the same, but the splash screen is Maleficent herself laughing evilly while holding decapitated heads of Mickey and Donald. The Simpsons are shocked to see this. After that, the game starts normally. Same kingdom, same number of attractions, blah blah blah. When Lisa goes over to Merlin and tries to begin the Gathering Spell, dialogue began, similar to when a Tower Challenge event begins:

Maleficent: Hahaha... HahahaHAAAA!!! Insolent fools... Up until now, my Curses may have been thwarted... but no longer!!! For THIS spell... is very different than the others. THIS curse will destroy the kingdom! No one can stop me now!!!

The Simpsons are confused by what that means. Then a cutscene occurs where Maleficent appears near California Screamin' and begins destroying the kingdom, attractions and all. All the NPC's and Disney characters began running and screaming in both terror and agony as everything was incinerated to ashes by the explosive shockwaves made by Maleficent.

What made this sight disturbing and horrifying to the Simpsons was the fact that their deaths were shown in highly graphic detail. A child NPC was shown burning slowly to death on the ground with her flesh burned completely off her body, revealing some of her bones and charred organs, and several others were shown laying on the ground dead with charred skeletons being the only parts left of their corpses. Within a few minutes, the park was now in complete ruins and all the characters were nothing more than piles of ashes, except for the castle, Maleficent, and Merlin. Then another piece of dialogue began:

Merlin: Oh no! Your kingdom is gone! Gone to ashes!!

He then starts crying.

Merlin: But I know a way to save the kingdom, Simpson family. To restore the kingdom and defeat Maleficent for good, you must destroy the Sleeping Beauty: Extended Edition film reel.

Then the game crashes and the app icon is replaced with Maleficent laughing evilly. The Simpsons, realizing that destroying the film reel is the only way out, spring into action! They boarded Marge's car and sped off. But something was off with Springfield. All the places they know have been destroyed, due to Maleficent in the game. The Simpsons then sped off to the one place that isn't destroyed: the Aztec Theater.
