What Is "Knowing"

What is "knowing"? Obviously, it is the state of someone being aware of the truth. What does that mean, though? How is anyone supposed to be aware of the truth? Thinking is the state of someone believing that something is the truth, but that word is typically only used when the person thinking such a thing is wrong. Knowing, on the other hand, has the exact same meaning, but is only used when the narrator agrees with the thinker. Before the time of Nicolaus Copernicus, everyone knew that the sun orbited around the earth. Now, though, everyone knows that they only thought such a thing, and they were wrong. However, such a thing works when we work backwards, into the past, but what about when we work forwards? It is possible for us to be wrong about things that we currently know, and when we're proven wrong some time in the future, everyone then will know that we only thought such now. We, as humanity, do not define what is true and what is false, we merely interpret it. There is no difference between knowing and thinking, as both of them merely represent a belief in what you perceive to be true. Thus, we should not consider knowledge to be fact, nor should we consider thoughts to be fiction.

Knowing this, I can proudly say, head held high: No, my mom does not know that I am gay.
