As a young gamer, I knew that 2014 was quite a boring year when it came to gaming. I wanted a new game to play. I went to a local car boot sale to see if there were any cheap games that I could grab.I asked around and a suspicious old man called me over.

"Eyy!" He shouted. " Wanna game do you, I got one for ya."

His croaky gruff voice was harsh on the ears.

"This game here, is like no other."

I was enticed by this, all games nowadays are just Call of Duty with some other features.

"What is it called?" I asked.

"This one here," he said, "Why young man, this is Zomblox Nazi Edition 1564AD."

I was puzzled. How could there be an edition of a game that I have never heard of? I thought that there must have been a Zomblox before it.

So I asked, "What ever happened to the first Zomblox?"

He retorted, "No one talks about the first Zomblox, they say it was lost. The game has never been seen before."

So I questioned this, "So what is this game?"

"It's the only remaining copy of its sequel, I'll give it to you for free if you stop asking these questions."

"Sorry, final question."

"Fine, be snappy with it." He replied.

"What console?"

"PC, now bugger off!"

I went home to play my new game, and I booted up my PC. After installation I quickly looked up the game on the internet. There were no search results. I though that this was rather strange. The theme was all twisted and sounded like white noise.

The gameplay was like minecraft, a game I rather liked. At the same time, however, the facial animations were uncanny. Neither seemingly real or fake. It had a story, not the most engaging one but I persevered. It was a typical kind of zombie survival. I was killing zombies in a mining town and I shot down the mining tunnels as the game instructed. However my player froze and I wondered if this was a glitch in the game and I tried to alt+TAB but my PC was having none of it. A man appeared from nowhere and was the most realistic looking thing I had ever seen in a game.

He said, "A rebirth lies ahead."

This echoed for some time, before his face began to peel away. This revealed flesh and bone and puss began to ooze from every revealed orifice. I had to look away due to the detail in the animation. I went down the one way mine shaft, killing zombies as I went. All I could think about though was that man, his face and what he said. I had reached the end of the tunnel and a small box was sitting there.

I could interact with it.

So I did.

Something happened in that time between me clicking the box and where I was transported to, I must have hallucinated. The effects I felt were spurred on by the game.

I, as myself, was in the middle of Venice and I was in the renaissance. Renaissance meant rebirth. This is what the man must have meant. This was too real for me and I freaked out. I saw a figure in the distance, he was dressed in Nazi attire. He was also a Zombie. I ran away as fast as my legs could carry me, turned some corners and met Leonardo DiCaprio. He told me he was searching for the Oscars he wanted. He began to speak, and in an instant I was drawn back to the real world. My PC in front of me, with the Blue Screen of Death displayed.

I couldn't help think of the game but also who sold it to me. I went back to the car boot sale the next day as it was still on and found the man. I asked him,

"What was that game?"

I couldn't help shaking as I spoke those words.

"It was a prophecy." He whispered.

He then vanished before my very eyes.
