Fruit Ninja PC

I happen to be a huge Fruit Ninja fan. I love the company Halfbrick. Jetpack Joyride and Fruit Ninja are two of my favorite games. I always hoped for a port to the PC for Fruit Ninja. I never could give you a reason why, I just wanted it. I felt like I wanted better online competition. So when I was browsing a forum one day and found Fruit Ninja on the PC, I went straight to it!

Everything seemed legit. The link was to halfbrick.com. The full link went to halfbrick.com/FruitNinjaPC, which was perfectly believable. Such a dopey fan I was, as no suspicion arose when I was redirected to FruitNinjaPC.co.cc. Yes, I was a complete idiot. The site seemed real, all decorated with Halfbrick's logo and such. In the middle was a download for Fruit Ninja.

The download went without suspicion raised, too. The download was FNinjaPCd.exe. As I installed, everything was dressed up like Halfbrick.

You know what? I'm gonna cut to the chase. Everything went smoothly, until I ran it.

The Halfbrick logo comes up, as usual. When the game's main screen comes up, however, everything seems to be much more... well... abnormal. The screen was a shade of red. There was only one option: Battle.

What really was strange was the Sensei's face. It was frowning, with dark voids in his eyes. His lips were opened in a sort of stance that someone may say "help" with. Ignoring this bit, I tried checking out the dojo. Inside, there wasn't anything there. A sign that simply said "closed" hung in the place of selection would be.

Back at the homescreen, the bomb that exited out of the game had disappeared. In my mind, I decided to go ahead and play. By now, I knew I had been played a fool by getting the game. When I selected "Battle" , the melon didn't cut in two as usual. Instead, the screen faded slowly to black, and faded in again at the usual dojo screen. The dojo screen was an eerie grey, with a red tint like everything else.

I noticed it appeared as if another player was with me, as you would go against someone else on the iOS version. The name simply was a blank. The screen flashed "Start" and I began swiping at the fruit coming down. Oddly enough, the person against me had his blade in the corner, just sitting there as it shined.

Suddenly the fruit stopped coming down. The lights dimmed. Now heads were falling. Eyes and heads. Lifeless, photo-realistic heads. I tried swiping at them to no effect, until my opponent finally made a move. His blade was everywhere, chopping up everything.

As he chopped, the body parts began to be strewn about. Brain matter seemed to splatter my screen, and then the game went off.

My computer shut down.

It never turned back on.

EPILOGUE

On my laptop tried visiting that post again only to find that person banned. I tried the URL, but it was no longer registered. To this day, I have never touched Fruit Ninja again, nor any of Halfbrick's games, in fear of Fruit Ninja PC.
