Shiny Until Death
I guess it starts with me... I'm not an A kid in school, and my parents give me a reward for every A I get. With the final report card I had gotten 4 A's this year and that resolved in a prize of one Nintendo DS game. As a mere 13 year old I had loved playing Pokemon as a kid, and decided I would relive the past and get Pokemon SoulSilver. With the summer ahead I planned to play non stop until I had if ishes the game. The game started with standard procedure. You pick your name. Get introduced to your mom and room etc. I get to pick my Pokemon like every game, and of course, I pick cyndaquil. Like every child I start my journey on route 1. But something was odd with my Cyndaquil, he seemed to be In an almost mad mood. Regardless I shook it off and kept playing, but I soon learned that as his health got lower, the more aggravated me got. But this didn't bother me at all, and I didn't notice anything else until I had obtained two gym badges. After a healing in the Pokemon center, he seemed eager to battle. He then followed by saying this, " For blood is my thirst, and my thirst shall be quenched!" This had started to perturb me, and I questioned my parents on where they had gotten the game. They simply replied an old man down the street. This bothered me so because there was no old man down the street, but despite the nagging in my brain, I kept on playing, eager to find out Cyndaquil's obsession with blood. I ventured out on to the next route, and found a little pidgey to battle. Cyndaquil, or Cyndie as I nicknamed him, seemed happy about his "victim" and so they battled Cyndie relentlessely tear the wild pidgey apart. Instead of the regular end scene of a battle it ended with a splat of blood, and a help from the pidgey, disgusted I turned the game off, and left it aside.
The following are a series of events that occurred when I went to play the game after dinner. Cyndie had Appearntly gotten hungry after I left the game, and decided to go out on his own, I later found the carcasses of the Pokemon he had killed in my room in my house, but I kept on going despite being scared shitless. When I went to battle the next gym leader, it seemed odd. All of his pokemon were shiny which had freaked me out because I had never seen that happen before, but I defeated each Pokemon swiftly, and had gotten my third badge. When I was traveling to my next town I had noticed something else that was odd, all of the Pokemon that the gym leader had in the wild they were shiny! This had greatly shocked me, and I caught all of the Pokemon. The same thing happened with all of the other gym leaders, and Pokemon, and very soon I had a stockpile of shiny Pokemon.
When I went to face the elite four with my shiny Pokemon, I failed to defeat the leader, and after recovering my Pokemon I noticed they were no longer shiny, this had bugged my, but I kept playing and my second time through I defeated the leader. With each Pokemon when fainted came a blood curling scream, and the same splat of blood from the pidgey in the beginning of the game. I then heard Cyndie laugh demonically and I saw him lap up the blood and guts of his Pokemon, while the leader stared in horror. That had given me nightmares for ages, And I still hate that game, but I destroyed it the smart way, fire. I set it a flame, and left it alone. But to this day I can still hear the demonic laughing of Cyndie, and ever so often the scream of a dead child...
