A Minecraft Story: The Horrors in the Farlands
Hello, my name is Nick Patterns, i'm 16 year old, I loved Minecraft, I always did, but I have experienced something horrifying and I regret for an eternity, One night when I couldn't sleep. I decided to take my laptop and play Minecraft, not really in the mood to play in my main world so I created a new world.
Not knowing that I forgot to pick a seed and started instantly instead. Odd enough, I spawned directly into the farlands, I recognized it by the moving blocks and where it's all straight flat. But I found it very strange that I spawned there, I couldn't walk back to the normal lands either, it was too far for that. A good opportunity to explore it all, I took pressed 'E' for achievement and I saw that I already have a stone pickaxe, a sword and some sets of 3x64 torches in my inventory.
Then I saw a hole, with a kind of green-looking bedrock... Out of curiosity I went in and checked it out, it was dark and even a torch couldn't light the place up, it's like the darkness that you get when you're on the void.
I kept on going deeper and deeper and found a chest, full of Ender eyes and bones, but when I hovered my cursor over it, it didn't really have names, just gibberish .
Anyhoo, I still took the stuff out of the chest then went back to mining and then I found a room, full of paintings, not just normal paintings but paintings of the default skin Steve, with white eyes and blood under the eyes like it was crying blood, he was holding a black broken music disc, all the paintings were the same no matter the size, it was pretty disturbing.
I couldn't find another hall or hole I could walk in, I tried to take the paintings to look for a secret doorway or something, but whenever I tried that, a text appeared saying You can only sleep at night. Strange, because it wasn't a bed...
The screen started getting darker and darker, like my avatar was sleeping, when I woke up and I was in a different room, a dark room, I tried to light it up and it worked, but I regretted it, because above the torch there was this face of the default skin again, crying blood and without eyelids, it scared the shit out of me, I never saw Minecraft like that, I didn't know if I should keep playing or not.
I quit the game and deleted the save file, I got on my main save file, but strangely I got back in this creepy world again, in the same room. C418 - 11 started playing, but there was no music box, it just started playing randomly. At the left wall there was a wooden door, I opened the door and there was a dark hallway. I heard some zombies and skeletons so I got ready and took my sword, the zombies sounded like there getting really close, then a creeper appeared, I tried escaping by going to the wooden door and get the hell out of the hall. But I couldn't open the wooden door, the You can only sleep at night text appeared again everytime I clicked on it. I panicked and died by the explosion.
I immediately quit the game and I saw on the save file DOCKDIED, I knew Dock from Mojang, he joined in 2009 and shorly after he left due to some issues. This was creepy... I went on Minecraft Wiki and searched Dock, the description said Dock (Hayden Scott-Baron) was the first person to join Mojang (then still called Mojang Specifications) as the artist of Minecraft. He joined in December 2009,[2] but left shortly after in February 2010 due to work-related issues, as well as several problems regarding animations but nothing any specifically why he left.
I went back on Minecraft and clicked on the DOCKDIED save file, wondering if I could get some answers. The level took quite a while to load, it made weird noises that of which I couldn't really hear good enough, by trying to find out I turned on the volume a little higher and then a pitched scream, like it was crying in agony and pain, It was a very disturbing sound, I got really sweaty and I had problems with breathing, my heart beating rapidly. I have never heard that sound in Minecraft before.
When the loading screen was gone I spawned right in a netherportal. And another loading screen appeared, it was loading the level of The Nether, whenever I finally got to the Nether, it was the farlands again, but then in the Nether, and then again, I saw a hole with green bedrock around it, I was getting attacked by a Ghast, of which I identified this Ghast has black eyes and bloody tears, the eyes looked like they were torn off it's face, it's mouth was also open, and blood came from it's mouth too.
When I went through the hole, it was dark again, I didn't have any stuff at all, I lost it when I died, but when I went further I saw a chest, it looked like it was old and weathered, I looked in the chest and my old stuff were in there, my whole lot of torches, my stone sword and pickaxe, and ofcourse the whole lot of bones and Ender Eyes. There was a wooden door in the right and in that room there were stairs, I looked up and behold, a portal back to the normal world, and I hoped that I'd spawn in a normal place, no farlands, no weird and creepy things anymore.
I went into the portal, awaited the loading screen to finish, and I teleported into a hall, where, weird enough I got attacked by Beastboy, he grunted and growled like any other zombie, his eyes were black, and around it's eyes it was black, a little but shade then. I wonder how Beastboy got into Minecraft, I always thought that those NPC's were only used for tests.
When I killed Beastboy the c418 - 11 played again as a gameplay song, I went further, the place was dark so I put a torch on the wall, and what I saw was disturbing, Rana was hung and the inthrails hung out of her body. Black Steve layed dead on the wall, the arms were pulled off and one of his arms was put in his mouth, Normal Steve was headless on the floor and his head laid on the other side of the room, all of their eyes were replaced with Ender Eyes... I should've never lighted up the room, I knew I could never get this picture ever out of my head. Was this a sick prank? Did I really saw this shit? When I walked passed these corpses I approached a wooden sign, with R.I.P on it and my username after it. First my old stuff and now this? How does the game know and who even put up this sign?
I couldn't walk any further so I decided to turn back, but when I did I saw the corpses coming at me, my heart was racing instantly of adrenaline, yet I took my sword and tried to hit them but it didn't effect anything to them, so they slaughtered me, I died and didn't respawn, I got to the menu and the safe file name changed into JUNKBDIDIT. After the traumatizing attack of these zombie Dock mobs, I searched for Junkb and it automatically went to Junkboy, you see his photo but with the face blurred out. It's wiki says that he is secritive about his identity, and there isn't much information about him either... The thing Dock and Junkboy had in common was that they're both artists and game developer.
This was intriguing but since this game was sending subliminal messages like the safe file names, the constant bleeding eyes or empty eye sockets. I went a little paranoid that the reason why Dock left... was that he might be murdered... His site was inactive since 2011, he left in 2010, Junkboy was like Dock, an artist and a game developer, well he could have replaced Dock but the save file didn't just say DOCKDIED and JUNKBDIDIT. This is disturbing... I wasn't sure if it was true... as a matter of fact, I was very confused.
Eagering for information I clicked on the JUNKBDIDIT save file to see what awaits me. The loading screen appeared, but it didn't say anything sense, just gibberish, I looked to the clock... 3 AM, and I'm still not tired, then I looked back at the loading screen and it said this bv/Y/wgfwu/O/cbh/U/djwvkfu/A/cghewnfv/R/kjhgfbhw/E/jfwieh/G/ gfyyhu/O/igew/I/uigfyvbse/N/hjdgnuyb/G/fvrurgfdctrjv/T/vvvvvd/O/yfcgvc /D/hvyfthui/I/gftdru6yf/E/jhdfyghj then this same hellish scream came again, but harder than normal! The screen went crazy and then I spawned in The Ender world, the land was full of enderman, they didn't attacked me, but the Ender Dragon did, I was wondering if I had a sword, I looked in my inventory and there was a sword. But I was startled, my avatar had some sort of Chelsey smile, his eyes were replaced with Ender Eyes and around the eyes there was blood, one arm was missing, his left arm was missing, my avatar looked like Dock's undead mobs that attacked me, I tried to get my mind off of it and try to slay the Ender Dragon, hoping I can make an end of this.
After the battle, and the portal appeared, as normal, I jumped into the portal, but there were no credits, no story about the 2 people talking about the avatar, just gibberish. And the C418 - 11 song was playing again, and after that, I heard a cry of agony and stabbing sounds and ripping sounds, the cry was silenced like if someone covered his mouth with his hand. Then a couple of pictures were shown, a dead person, empty eyes sockets, the head wasn't attached to his body and a chopped off hand was put in his mouth, the picture was shown in several frames, but the picture was horrifying, I couldn't have seen anything more disturbing than that, this was so real.
After this disturbing moment I spawned back into the normal farlands, but then it was night, I had the torches, the sword and the pickaxe, and there was this same hole, something said to me that I should go in there again, I tried to ignore it but I couldn't... I had to... and when I was in there, one of those cavesounds appeared and I saw a depiction of my own avatar, lying down to the ground, empty eye sockets, head unattached, chopped off hand in his mouth, just like the picture, and the room I was in was full of paintings with the picture. The hole got closed and the ground near the walls disappeared, as if I was trapped in the room forever.
I had never been so scared in my life, such a peaceful game, with a curtain that covers up all that is bad, my avatar was trapped in the room and then the text appeared Herobrine joined the game, I got more scared, I don't even know who this Herobrine is, and I play in a single player mode, how did he got in here? He went through the wall, and he appeared to be the default skin Steve without eyelids, the screen went crazy as he attacked me. I tried to hurt him with my sword but it didn't work, I fell into the pits and died. Right after that the game closed itself and it appeared that the graphic picture of the man who had been killed (possibly Dock) became my desktop image. I got so scared that I closed my laptop and threw it out the window...
I've never played Minecraft again, whenever I see it I see the picture, I see the dead characters and I hear the scream, the horrible scream and the stabbing sounds. And whever I sleep, I feel something is watching me, I don't see it, I don't hear it, I just feel it and nobody else does...
After this, my life has ended, because I couldn't take the paranoia anymore, I keep dreaming about the picture and the horrible sounds, my mind has been permanently damaged with traumas. I am 16 years old and I don't think I can hold these traumas up until old age, so now that you read this, I'm done suffering already.
