Always Be CAREFUL!
I once heard a story about a guy from the town where I live. I can't tell you where that is because of the reasons I will soon be clkear to you.
This was a guy who always loved to run. He ran all the time and dreamed of bheing in the Olympics running teams. Often wqas the times we would see him running from home to school so early in the morning that he was still asleep. "Slow doen, Bradley Stafferson!" we would shout, because that's what his name was, but he couldn't hear us ebcause he was asleep.
One time he ran to school so early that it was actually still yesterday afternoon and the school bus ran him down. He didn't died, but both his legs were broken and the doctor said he would never run as fast as he used to again. He said "really?" and the doctoer said "yes." Then the doctor went home and Bradley Stafferson was driven home by his mparents because he couldn't run because his legs were in casts.
For most people the story ends therre, but I was Bradley's friend and so I know the rtuth. One time after the accident we were hanging out and Bradley said "Tom, (that's my name) I will run again."
And I said "Bradley, no you won't. Your legs are all weird and lumpy now."
"I'LL FIND A WAY!" he shouted. He shouted a lot in those days after the accident. I think maybe he was upset or something.
Anyway he showed me research he'd been doing on his computer. It turns out a long time ago there were witches in our town and they'd been friends with a demon that could grant you wishes. Bradley wanted to find the demon and wish to be able to run again.
"Bradley this is scary," I said. "There are lots of pictures of pentagrams on this research."
"It's fine Tom, you stupid idiot," Bradley said. "I just have to find the bottle that the demon is imprisoned in at the bottom of the river and let it free in exchange for a wish. That's what it says right here."
"You know what they say, Bradley," I said. "BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR."
But he made me help him go down to the river and look for the bottle. He couldn't swim so I got all muddy. Finally I found it and gave it to him. It was shining scarily.
Bradley opened the bottle and the demon came out. It said "your wish is my command, mortal."
"Make me so I can run again demon!"
"Just to be clear, do you mean you want me to heal your-"
"DO AS I SAY, FOUL CREATURE, AND BEGONE!"
and the demon flicked his hand at Bradley and Bradley turned into a pair of running shoes.
Just my size too.
