Friday Night Funkin': The Satanic Mod

I've been a hardcore fan of the Newgrounds hit Friday Night Funkin' ever since the first demo came out on itch.io. I played the shit out of every single mod, drew fanart, wrote FNF fanfics, and many, many more. However, there was one mod that I played that made me question my love for the game, and I'm still questioning it while writing this.

One day after coming home from school on a Friday (haha, get it?), I booted up my computer and opened Team Fortress 2 to play it (I'm an Engineer main, lol). In the chatbox, one of my teammates talked about a disturbing FNF mod that can only be found on the dark web. According to the teammate, the mod was so disturbing, so vile and so terrifying that people would think it was just an Internet myth if you told them. I told him: "Piss off, you're just lying as always", and he said: "Oh, don't be silly. You have to PLAY IT to BELIEVE IT!" Shortly after out long match ended, I closed TF2, opened Google Chrome, downloaded TOR and went in it. After having to scroll through websites upon websites dedicated to gore, I clicked one website that simply said: "Friday Night Funkin': The Satanic Mod". It was the exact game the teammate told us.

As soon as I got to the website, it was only a black background with a red, blood-like font that read: "Are you ready to face the visions of true hell?", accompanied with a "Download me" text that, when I clicked on it, it automatically downloaded a file to my computer, titled "fnfsatanicmod.zip". After packing everything, I clicked on the proper game's file, and it opened a new window.

The intro song was a more demonic version of the iconic FNF main theme, and the only white text that popped up was "666". The black screen cut to the logo of the mod, with the normal buttons below the title. I clicked play, and it cut to the list showing three songs: "Hell," "Triple Six," and "Eternal Inferno." The last two songs were locked, and only a difficulty called "Agonizing" was available. I clicked play, and then that scream from those K-Fee commercials popped up, causing the window of my room to crack and explode, that scared the living nightlights out of me.

The screen cut to a sad-looking Boyfriend that wore nothing but boxer shorts, with his legs and arms chained, no microphone in sight. Girlfriend wasn't even there, and the only other character there was an unusually hyperrealistic render of Satan who is the only one there holding a microphone. The music was loud and disturbing, and the arrows were violently fast as I played through it, and it was damn impossible to battle against Satan, as BF's health bar got reduced by the devil himself's powerful singing abilities. And then... a scary and hyperrealistic image of Boyfriend with gouged-out eyes, bloody tears and a huge mouth appeared accompanied with a blood-curdling scream. The static showed up, and it cut to a text that said:

"Jesus non salvabit te, et neque Dominus. In hoc mundo promisso nihil amplius refert, et omnia quae possumus sub viridi gramine tecta sunt et frustra clamamus, dum lavamur nobis per novum Patrem nostrum, Luciferum lapsus Angelum infunde."

That translated to, from Latin:

"Jesus will not save you, and not even the Lord either. Nothing matters in this promised world anymore, and all we can do is shelter under the green grass and scream in vain while having lava pour on us by our new Father, Lucifer the Fallen Angel."

Behind the red text was an extremely graphic but slightly blurred drawing of a naked Girlfriend getting violently tortured by demons that fed on her intestines while she was crying and peeing all over herself.

It turned out that my teammate was telling the truth this whole time. I quickly exited the game, deleted it off my computer, deleted TOR as well and moved to my bed in a curled position.

The next day, I hopped on TF2 again only to find out that all my teammates were gone, and I was the only BLU member. I was shocked, and the RED team ended up killing me after struggling to kill them all. I turned around and saw the same Boyfriend from the mod, but he was not in chains. Instead, he hung from my ceiling from his neck, and a bloody froth came out of his mouth. I screamed in horror and ran down the stairs only to see both of my parents dead, with blood all over the floor. I screamed even more accompanied with a cry. Then, I ran to my little sister's room to check and see if she was okay, but she wasn't. Her torso was cut off, and blood was splurting everywhere. I let one last scream and cry until my head and the entire house exploded in flamed that spread to the rest of the neighbourhood, and then the town, and then the city, and then the rest of the country, and then throughout the world until the whole planet blew up into pieces.
