EVIDENCE

Hello. My name is Joseph. I hope I don't take up your time but something happened to me recently that has quite possibly changed my life... forever.

It was last Tuesday. My parents had already gone to work by the time I woke up and my little sister was at her friend's home. My older brother was already up. He's a real jerk, he makes fun of me for watching cartoons when I'm only 7! So I decided to get a bowl of cereal (Captain Crunch, it's the best one out there) and watch some TV after letting my dog Violet out. I clicked on Hulu and I put on Nickelodeon. I know almost everyone uses streaming services nowadays, but I can't stand them. There are too many options to pick from! How am I supposed to relax stressing over what shows to watch? So I always use Hulu + Live TV.

Anyways, an episode of The Thundermans was just ending and I saw that SpongeBob was coming up next. SpongeBob is one of my favorite shows ever! I haven't seen a lot of the newer episodes but the first 3 seasons, some post-movie episodes, and the first two movies I adore.

The show started with the same old silly theme song that I loved. Did you know the mouth on Painty the Pirate is actually Stephen Hillenburg? I thought that was a cool detail. The episode was "Texas," one of my favorites.

So I sat back and relaxed as I watched one of my favorite cartoons in the morning. But during the episode, many weird things kept popping up. Sometimes the sound would either get really loud to where I had to turn down the volume, or really quiet to where it would almost sound like a whisper. At first, I just thought it was because of the TV. My dad has been meaning to get a new one since the screen acts up sometimes. But even when Sandy sang her song about Texas, I couldn't hear anything. The remote wasn't changing the volume, I just couldn't hear anything. Also, there would be random little glitches in places. Like one scene where Patrick was just pixels. I did consider just turning off the channel to play a game or something, but I felt like it wasn't too big a deal. I could get through it, right?

It got to the scene where SpongeBob and Patrick made fun of Texas in front of Sandy, and everything was normal at the moment. The two ran away from her as Patrick continued to poke fun at Texas. But when Sandy started to chase them... something was different about her. Her entire body was glitching out, she was covered in some sort of black substance... and her face. Her eyes were completely white and she was smiling, with the bottom of her mouth hanging off her chin. I was really scared now. I hid a bit underneath my blanket with only my eyes poking out of it. SpongeBob and Patrick continued to run away from Sandy, as the black substance started to grow more and more. The black substance eventually turned into a wave and absorbed Patrick, and when SpongeBob screamed, the whole screen started to glitch out even more.

I grabbed the remote and changed the channel instantly. My heart was beating fast and I had so many questions.

What the heck happened? Why did everything start glitching out?? Is SpongeBob okay?!?

I didn't know what to think of it. Eventually, I calmed down and figured maybe Nickelodeon was playing some sort of prank. It was a pretty freaky one but still a prank. I switched back to the channel but it gave me one of those messages that said that the channel had gone offline. Maybe it was glitching out?

I went to let my dog out and my brother came downstairs to ask what all the noise was. I told him I had the volume up on the TV and he just told me to turn it down. He gets mad at the stupidest of things, like one time he died in a game of Fortnite and punched a hole in his wall. Anyways, I decided to turn on Cartoon Network. If Nick wasn't going to work, I figured I'd see what CN had on. Regular Show was playing so I decided to watch it. I didn't see the show too much but I did think it was cool (Muscle Man is really funny). The episode that was playing was the one where Mordecai and Rigby had to get geese out of the park. So things were fine during the beginning of the episode.

But... it started again.

During the scene where the boys talk to Benson about the geese, he tells them to take care of them, or they're fired. But when he says fired, he stops. Then his eyes rolled into the back of his head, he started to twitch out, then he had the same smile Sandy had before. Mordecai and Rigby quickly ran out of the room, and everything came down at once. The whole screen started to glitch and jitter. I held Violet next to me, scared to death. I felt like puking. Mordecai and Rigby started to run throughout the house as the infected Benson chased them. During this, Pops poked his head out of a room and quickly got sucked into the glitch. The two ran out of the house, and the whole world was being taken over. People were running away, others were being sucked in, and some were even infected themselves. But then during all of this, SPONGEBOB showed up. YEAH, SPONGEBOB. I had my mind BLOWN. HE'S ON AN ENTIRELY DIFFERENT CHANNEL. WHAT THE HECK?!?!?!?!?

When he showed up, he stopped and looked around confused as to where he was, but then started running as the glitch came after him. In fact, many other characters from many different shows popped up in places. KO from OK K.O, Lincoln from The Loud House, Darwin from Gumball, and even Peter and Quagmire from Family Guy! Almost all of them were infected and chased down many people in the park. Eventually, Mordecai, Rigby, and even SpongeBob ended up at a golf cart. They tried to start it up, but it was too late. The glitch started to surround them, and when it came at them, the whole screen glitched out, and I could hear their screams in the loud static-like sound.

I couldn't take it anymore. I grabbed the remote and turned off the TV. I hid under my blanket for a long while. My ears were ringing, my heart was pumping, and I was terrified. I ran to the bathroom and puked my cereal out. It was really scary. After a bit, I fell asleep on the couch.

When my parents came home, I told them about the TV glitching out and making loud noises, but not about what happened in the shows. They wouldn't believe me. I also didn't tell my siblings because they would make fun of me. Jerks. We got a new TV a week later and nothing has happened with it since. That whole situation has been in my head since, and it still terrifies me. I still don't know what caused all of that to happen. I searched online to see if anyone has ever experienced something like this before, but all it brought up were videos of the normal type of glitches you'd get on a TV. You know, like when there's a storm it messes up the satellite. But there was no storm. It happened during daylight.

I don't know if I'll ever get an answer to this. I probably never will. If anyone has ever had an experience like this before, please message me. I have to go now, my brother has a basketball game. Hopefully I'll get some answers soon.
